I got a message on my home phone from someone in the firearm unit with questions about some of the guns. I can only assume they are for the homemade ones. im calling them back tomorrow to see what the questions are.
ill let you know what I find out. |

They wanted to make sure that i knew i could not sell them Oh, in that case I find myself lacking outrage and am actually somewhat impressed that they seemed to be trying to make sure you knew the law on a somewhat obscure facet of firearms law. I'm actually impressed. Oh, and in before the outrage.

That's good to hear that they will register them. A little funny because in CT you can't sell "AW" 's anymore anyways to another CT resident. Unless the receiver is pre-preban. Leon, I wonder if they thought that maybe you manufactured them before 94, and if so, maybe thought that you thought that you could transfer them because they were pre-preban? Wow I hope what I just wrote is understandable lol. |

From the conversation I know they called the ATF for clarification. I am sure because she said they (ATF) were surprised I put a S/N on them.
I figured they would definitely kick the form back with no serial number which is why I made them. Also after making them I posted multiple threads on ARFCOM with pictures of my handy work so the NSA already knew I had them. She said my forms should be here any day so they accepted them. |

Not if it was a home made lower. Can never transfer it without a mfr ffl.
I just thought it was funny that Our state police would say that. Anther funny thing is what if you did make it pre 94 ban? Wouldn't need to register it. What's the min age one is allowed to make their own lower? |

You cant manufacturer firearms with the intent of selling them without a manufacturing license. You can certainly sell a homemade firearm at a later date. The law is focused on intent, mainly due to excise taxes. I didn't know that. I stand corrected. Regardless, that is good that dps is going to register them. |

This makes me think I should try declaring one of my ak builds without a serial number to see what happens.
