So if this POS law sticks around would a bullet button mean we could still buy ARish rifles and have all the evil features we want?

As said above NO. The new law now defines "detachable magazine" as: "(4) "Detachable magazine" means an ammunition feeding device that can be removed without disassembling the firearm action;"

Edit to add: About the only way around the new law would be to affix a 10 round magazine to the AR in such away as it cannot be removed without disassembling the firearm action. Have fun loading such a rifle.

The law states detachable magazine.  So doesn't make sense that it would be ok?

I didn't see anything about a bullet button.  Just thumbhole stocks?

We are basically screwed until there's a lawsuit against the state or we throw that shitbag Malloy and his co-conspirators out of office and have the law repealed through the legislature and governor's office. Bolt-action AR15s might be GTG if we can get a judge say so, although that largely defeats the point of having an AR15.

The new law is unconstitutional and can be thrown out, however it will take years before it reaches the supreme court. You pretty much have until 1/1/2014 to smuggle whatever it is you plan on registering into the state, because after that we are in for a long winter.

With regard to ARs specifically, it doesn't matter what you do to the magazines.  ARs are now banned by name so you cannot buy any more of them.

Like that will stop anyone.

I hope that the end result of a lawsuit against CT is that even the previous, less severe AWB gets thrown out. IMO it's not enough to just restore the old status quote. The progressives need to be taught a lesson about what happens when the reach out their tentacles too far. We need to make them pay us back with interest.

If Michigan can become a right-to-work state, Connecticut can become a right to bear arms state again. It may take years, but I believe that the gun grabbers will be defeated sooner or later.
