Not the end. Those of us staying in CT can now move to the next tasks - setting up appeals of the new law and exercising our remaining right to vote for representatives that will represent us. You know what I really love about this post......this guy's been a member since 2005....and has 35 posts on threads. I'm guessing he only talks when it's important, and I wish we could all calm down and take this advice to heart. Take a breath, shut off the computer and the TV and go outside. This isn't the end by a long shot...we'll get this law overturned, because it is INSANELY unconstitutional and over-reaches VAST government power. For me to say this it might as well be the 7th sign of the Apocalypse, I'm a VERY old punk rocker, I've been fighting corruption since I was 7 years old!.... but.....sometimes the system actually works, we might not like how slowly it moves, that it is at times corrupt, but again get out there and BE We The People, if we just sit home and say, "THEY CAN'T DO THAT!" well they just did, and we've got checks and balances in place, A LOT of them, let's use them. If I can, when my personal nightmare is over I'm devoting time and energy to run for an office, any office, under NO party affiliation other than The Law of The Land, The U.S. Constitution. It sucks, I'm angry, but trying to harm others or make them change their minds by being angry is like setting yourself on fire and hoping the smoke stings their eyes, I'm not saying to not stick to your principles, I was taught to never sacrifice those for any man, but it's time to get calm and thing rationally about restoring The Constitution, and how to do that effectively |

Well Said Sir. I have been following your HTF since I am coming to Groton next week for work. Just had to applaud this comment and the one referenced. We are all watching this experiment to see what happens. I believe it will fail and the rest of the US will see you just cannot suspend freedom for a sound bite.
FWIW learned to play Brand New Cadillac (Clash) on my bass yesterday. Quoted:

And I haven't played in 15 years. Probably couldn't anymore. |

But I am in the bitch and whine phase right now. I will enter the controlled and directed anger phase at 12:02 pm today where I look how to get these traitors out of office. And what I need to do to support a lawsuit against the state. |

It's a 12 step program, so lets get by the denial, anger, despair, withdrawal, resignation and the rest of the crap.
We go guerrilla, grass roots, bottom up, insurgency. Get involved, vote, send money, support and help your good guys and gals in Hartford. Volunteer to stuff envelopes, make phone calls. Involvement and action will defeat helplessness every damn time. I know many of you did or do this. Do not feel your efforts have been wasted. You are appreciated and what you did matters. And at least you can look your children in the eyes and know you did the honorable things, the correct things, the hard things, to preserve your beliefs and civil rights. You are not sell outs, or screeching irrational whores to the system. You are patriots of the highest order. |

I can think of a few states that just might be down to march on the Supreme Court. It's time to wake them up. It's time for action. Better get going then By the time Obama appoints one or two more justices, marching to SCOTUS will be as productive as marching to local Dairy Queen hoping for a reversal. The fact that they are not taking this up at the Senate like Obama first wanted is because they KNOW they don't have the votes.....in the Supreme Court. He will stall it, buy time, slow walk it, influence those vulnerable states to do it locally and when the time is right (BEFORE HE LEAVES OFFICE) if he ever does, he will push for it like a son of a bitch when he has the votes in SCOTUS. |
