Guys,
Yesterday I think was a win for our side in Hartford. We showed up in force, argued with reason, and if nothing else made it clear that we can't be ignored. We need to keep writing and calling. Take the time to write an email thanking the folks on the committee for listening to testimony (I think it ended at 3am or something crazy). I know some folks were in and out, but leave that aside for now. Be sure to reiterate some of the most salient points and tell them that we, the people have spoken, and it is clear what we want. You could also highlight the diversity of pro 2a people, how we came with facts, figures and logic, and the other side had nothing but emotional appeals, demands, and threats to vote the legislators out of office.. Also remind them that 1000 likes on facebook mean a lot less than 1000 hard working citizens taking the day off from work and coming to Hartford in a SNOW STORM because they care so much about an issue. Thanks to all who attended, all who spoke, and all who are contributing to the fight. |

We did win! if you watched you know there were a ton of pro 2A people.
But the fucking news isn't telling that part of the story. Reading the danbury news times(piece of corrupted shit) all they talked about was bull shit and how a bunch of people support new laws. They did not tell the truth at all. My testimony was never posted! These assholes are going to corrupt the hearings. No matter what we say their story will be that there was overwhelming support for new laws when that was not the case. I watched i know! Fuckin assholes! |

I wouldn't say it's a huge win. We showed in force and made our voices heard, but I feel much of it fell on deaf ears. Many committee members kept leaving the room and Rep. Bye was on her laptop mocking many of the pro-gun speakers. Exactly. They basically ignored us. Assholes. |

I never knew swearing to uphold and defend the Constitution meant I was enabling our elected officials to mock, insult, and ignore their constituents. I'm sorry, but seeing that just fucking enraged me. |

I think it is optimistic to think it was a win, while we showed up in force, IMHO it still was not enough, I too think our testimony fell on deaf ears, it was all part of a process so they can say it was bi-partisan,...... I don't think we should give up but agree. The one thing i noticed is that all the 2A guys, me included, all say we are law abiding. Those politicians see that, in my opinion, as a reason they don't have to listen. They figure they can fuck us with some shit bag laws and we will simply follow their new law since we are law abiding. |

Thank them for what?
Not paying attention? Not giving 2 shits what was being presented? Thank them for facebooking during testimony? Thank them for bringing out of state testimony that has no bearing on CT citizens? Thank them for listening to me beg for my 2nd amendment right? Thank them for putting me on trial for a crime I have never committed ? No way... Screw that! I don't thank the enemy for causing me pain and suffering! I'll call them what they are... Domestic Enemies . the same people our founding fathers warned us about! Founding fathers called them Tory's! |

I don't have an answer, just thinking out loud.

Provocatively and peacefully. Everyone wait till day after or week after any ban or mag ban goes into effect ... Everyone TOGETHER show up at state police headquarters to turn yourself in as a criminal! OVERWHELM THEM WITH THEIR OWN NONSENSE |

Take a look at the testimony going on tonight....
Everyone is paying attention, asking questions, affirming, And even complimenting. No one napping Its a real commission. It's not like you are approaching the temple of syrinx to ask the synod of elders for permission to speak. |

Here is the email I sent to them: ----------------------------------------- Subject: Thank you for the chance to speak at Monday's Hearing Thank you for your patience during Monday’s Gun Violence Prevention hearing. I think this was an important chance for the residents of Connecticut to be able to share their thoughts and feelings regarding the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary. During the next month a final bill will be created by a bipartisan group using the input from the different hearings. THE CITIZENS OF CONNECTICUT HAVE A RIGHT TO A PUBLIC HEARING SO THEY CAN VOICE THEIR CONCERNS OVER ANY NEW PROPOSED LEGISLATION! As a citizen of the state of Connecticut, I demand my right to come before my elected officials and have a chance to have my voice heard! The E-Cert law should not be used to bypass the normal bill making process. The people of Connecticut deserve better than this. Thank you very much for your time and your consideration of my position. Best regards, C-CON ----------------------------------------- Please hammer them about having a follow-up hearing. We MUST have a chance to speak on the details of a specific bill! |

Even the founding fathers understood that you should use all means necessary in the political arena. Being polite and thanking someone for their time, even if you disagree with everything they said, shows that you are an honorable man. You can also use the thank you as a chance to reinforce how you feel about the proposed bills. Look at everything as an opportunity and anything is possible. |

Now I think like a libtard and use their tactics. Ever hear the term squeaky wheel get the most grease? They are squeaky. They get the most grease. Time to fight them using there own tactics. And although I would have agreed with you in the past, I have come to grips with reality. Your thought process hasn't worked and will not work. Not attacking you at all because we are all in this together. Just making a general statement. I'm just frustrated that time and time and time again we have to pay the piper for the super minorities actions. Sadly, it's not even about the actions of others any longer! Adam Lanza gave them the platform they have been waiting for! Vulchers circling the wagon as one man said to them as he testified. It's the sad damn truth. |

I totally understand where you are coming from, but I think we need to attack on all fronts. I think my local rep and senator are getting sick of me contacting them I also think the most important thing now is to have a chance to speak at another hearing after they create their final bill so we can hammer them on specific points of the bill. If we can do that, their may be a chance to stop some of this ... if not we are totally screwed. After the bill is passed, there is little chance of it ever being overturned. ETA - I'm going to call my rep and senator at lunch and demand that the public have a chance to speak on the final bill. I really think this is the most important thing right now. If they use E-Cert to bypass the committee and hearing process, the bill will hit the floor, be voted on in hours, and pass by a wide majority. We have to slow this down as much as possible. |
