The show seems like a useful tool. I distributed a bunch at my LGS and local range today. |

I'm coming, I've invited several friends as well. One will come if he can, not sure about work. What about carrying? I pretty much always carry(concealed) unless at work. Awesome! For carry: State Admin Rules 16-219 Department Of Public Safety

OK guys. For those who don't know yet there are about 90 new anti-gun bills being crafted in Augusta by our newly elected representatives! Not all will be introduced but many will be, while others are consolidated into larger ones. The governor will likely veto some of them but he will be under tremendous media and political pressure. We need to show up for this fight. The bills being proposed range from ASWB’s, confiscation, mag capacity limits (See how bad it is now in NY?) numerous new gun-free zones including the state parks, and even a proposal to scrap the amendment to the Maine state constitution that protects firearms. Many local bans will also be attempted. Yes, it is all really quietly happening and there is a lot of out of state money and political pressure/ gifts behind it all. As Mainer’s we are about to get steamrolled by outside forces and by our own elected officials. We need to get organized and we need to show up to this fight. Keep it civil and thoughtful. You could very easily get interviewed at any gun show or rally. Write all of your reps at all levels. Then wait a week and do it again, and again. This will go on through the spring and into the summer. Don’t stop doing it.
Join SAM (Sportsman’s alliance of Maine) if you are not a member. They are the only in-state organization we have that can fight this locally and they are desperately seeking help. This is not all on their website yet because they don’t know exactly what they are dealing with yet, but it’s coming. There will be a lot of nasty things said about all of us soon and we need to confront it but also we need to rise above the bad behavior. The public will notice who is both thoughtful and considerate and who is not. |

OK guys. Nice rally.
I showed up a few minutes early and there was nobody there! I drove around looking to so if it was someplace else but there was only one guy walking around with a sign and I could see that he was looking for everyone too.
Went to the gun show and asked if people knew about the rally and no one did...... I got frustrated and decided to just stay at the show. I didn’t want to get out of line to go and be the only guy there. Waited in line for an hour just to get into the show. (That in it self should show them that there are a lot of folks who don't like what they are about to do.) When I left at 2:15, the line was still out the door. When I had to leave I saw you guys and honked the horn a bunch of times but by then I could not stay as I had a commitment latter. I guess it was my bad but I did talk about it all at the show and tried to get folks interested in fighting this BS. After talking to people there I think the really important thing we need to do is go to the hearings. That is something the politicians will notice - if the room is full and there are folks outside in the halls they will get worried about what they are trying to do to us. See you the 8th. - and at the hearings. |

BDN has some coverage http://bangordailynews.com/ It was good to be with you all today. It was a good bunch of people. Lets try and bring 3 friends each on the 8th so we can surround the State House. |

Sounds like a plan! I'm in the BDN picture holding a Gadsden with my friend and my dad. I look like a twelve year old goof.
