NOT what I wanted to read after buying a preban last week...... |

But he is ready to revisit Connecticut's 1994 Assault Weapons ban. He's ready to introduce legislation that would close a loophole in that law.
"That loophole is that if you take a pre-'94 weapon and dismantle it and take one piece that has the serial number, you can legally rebuild that into a post-'94 weapon. That's a loophole, we need to fix that," McLachlan said. What the fuck am I reading?
He wants to ban building a pre-ban into a post-ban. Go for it dude! I'll vote for that. |

What he's saying is stupid. "That loophole is that if you take a pre-'94 weapon and dismantle it and take one piece that has the serial number, you can legally rebuild that into a post-'94 weapon. That's a loophole, we need to fix that," McLachlan said. Gun control advocates have been complaining about this loophole in the law for years. I've never heard anyone "complaining" about a lower being a firearm. These politicians have got to be shitting me if they're saying that criminals and mentally insane people give one fucking shit about whether a firearm or receiver is pre-ban or post-ban. Can we get this guy checked out for potential mental issues and make sure he doesn't have any guns in his house? WTF |

i tried telling a kid i know that anyone could easily do this with a $70 Walmart break action 12ga after everything else that isn't "needed for hunting" is taken away. i've used one of those and with 10 rounds worth of practice you can be shooting pretty fast from the hip. add 1 or 2 revolvers and this could easily happen again with guns that " make sense to own"
besides what is it like 3% of gun crimes a year are from rifles? |

We've got to stop acting like we are beaten before the fight. It's time to start taking the discussion away from "Guns" and bring it back to "Mental Health" and that the magic firearm genie that they think they can put back into the bottle by simply banning weapons, is a story only a child, without even the most basic sense and reasoning would believe.
It was stated that if they were to "grandfather" all banned weapons in the USA it would take 100 years to even complete it there are so many in ownership and circulation. I was at Hoffman's yesterday, just to see and talk to people about what was going on. It's bad right now. Their shelves are empty. It looks like they are going out of business, almost like New England Outfitters, and Cubettas before they did. I'm not suggesting they are, they only have a few uber expensive White Feather M1As in stock. One employee told me that younger gun owners, were bringing in brand new firearms, one example was a DSA FN FAL in brand new condition. He was selling it for cash. When asked why he was doing it, why getting rid of this rifle, (that the already beaten down, non too intelligent kid could have sold for a fortune privately...) he stated he wanted to get something for it instead of nothing, when they come and take it away from him and leave no compensation. This is fucking ridiculous. I'm done being afraid, I'm done with the idea that ignorant Pollyanna white tower politicians who know nothing of the true ramifications of this issue and what they are attempting to project are going to run rough shod over all of the gun owners in this state. WE HAVE GOT TO STOP ACTING LIKE WE ARE DEFEATED ALREADY!!! The FIGHT hasn't even really started. The legilature hasn't even met yet. All of this is conjecture. Can some of this idiocy pass? Sure, but we've got to fight it, show up to the sessions, get our friends and felow shooters to attend. But if people roll over and play dead, dumping their collections, this won't and can't happen. I refuse to go from one week, where I could sit in my home, actually feeling like even here in CT we've got a fair amount of access to 2nd Amendment rights, to another where we will be basically restricted to revolvers and single stacks. Shotguns and sporting rilfes that have only five rounds. The 2nd isn't about hunting, it isn't about sporting, (Even though 3 gun is the fastest, and has the largest purses of any firearms sport, relying on super high capacity magazines....) It is about liberty, the ability to defend outselves, and the ability to throw off the yoke of tyranny, which I see descending on our State. We need to start organizing. I don't have the answers, not all of them, but I need help and we need to start something now. Stop with all these articles, it's just focusing on defeatist attitudes. Start reading your history, read you books on the founding fathers, about where the terms about "Well Regulated Militia came from in the first place. From what I know, John Adams included that line as an afterthought to just the "RIght to keep and Bear Arms" that the 2nd was going to be. The Militia statement was put in place to pacify the State's Right's delegares to make sure that their citizen militias could still maintain their rights to be well regulated with their arms in case a Strong Federal Government kept a large standing organized Army, which could and would (and is) threatening the rights of states to keep their own citizen militas. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a law which states that all males between the age of 18-50 (or 55?) are already considered members of the CT militia? Fairly certain about that one. Are they expecting us to muster with muskets and tri corner hats?!?!?! Enough is enough. It's time to fight back. Nothing's happened YET. Something will come but we need to be able to challenge it to the SCOTUS if need be. The fight needs to be there. |
