Seriously, you fuckin' twatwaffles? A bear wanders into a guy's garage, rummaging through his garbage - IN HIS FUCKING GARAGE - and he shoots and kills it. Here is the list of what they recommend you do to prevent bear encounters:

Poor bear, sounds like he got shot by a guy with an unregistered handgun. But its on his property, I never had a problem with owning shit in your own house. Um, yeah I'm torn on the property rights issue here, ignore the bear or scare it off, its just a big black raccoon. Threatening posture, trying to rip open a door etc, that is different. I get one around here, my son has seen em they just run off. But charges? No. And a final treehugger card...most of the time we live in space that used to be theirs. I'm just saying I dont think the bear needed to be shot. |

When I was living up in VT I was told the bird feeder and trash thing were written laws up there. Can't leave bird feeders up over night because it attracts the bears into the towns. I'm sure a Vermonter can chime in more accurately.
I saw a few bears up there, I was leaving for work at 5 am, (lived in a condo in the woods in Waitsfield) there was a bear digging in the dumpster some 30-40 feet from my truck. I hollered back to my neighbor who was about to bring her dog out, and cautiously proceeded to my truck, started it and went to work. It didn't even pay any attention to me. I'd probably be more interested in observing it while waiting for A.C, and then more interested in observing how they think they're gonna deal with it haha.  Unless of course it was showing signs of aggression or trying to get into my living space. But then again, I legally own all my shit.
No offense pederrero, but those are pretty sound suggestions as far as the general public goes. I'm sure there's a handful of people that caught that broadcast and were shocked "cuddle or feed itt" were not suggestions. 
As for the shooter, sounds like a case of fail. Maybe even double fail. ETA: Any news of caliber, rounds fired and shot placement? Eh, 2 shots and apparently the bear was shot in the backyard after allegedly being in the garage. I'm bumping my count up to triple fail. |

This happens about once every year.
$50 says that the DEP released this bear within half a mile of there within the past few days. $100 says his neighbors were actively baiting / feeding the "cute widdle teddy bears" $150 says I don't give a shit about his prohibited status. I don't expect felons to follow laws. Thats why I carry my own gun. Do what you have to do to defend your home. A bear in your home is a threat. I have a friend who is not permitted to own firearms. He is actually a very good guy, a person I trust more than most any other. One of those true old school guys, you can ALWAYS count on him. He made some stupid decisions when he was a kid, and now those consequences are going to follow him for the rest of his life. Shit, forget firearms, according to the state hes "too dangerous" to vote. He does not deserve to be in jail, never was actually, and his acts did not warrant such punishment, but he is "black-listed" now. I've had conversations with him about it, for the record, he doesn't even want firearms, he's just not that kinda guy.

The 10mm and .45ACP Glocks can swap slides. So, (compact) G30/G29 and (full size) G21/G20 can swap. You are correct about the .40 too. Thats a much smaller frame. I'm not sure if you have to change extractors on the .40/9mm/.357 conversions, but you have to do it moving between 10mm and .45ACP and vice versa. Not sure if that Glock bastard child .45GAP can swap with anything, but it's probably best to just pretend that GAP never happened.
