I used to live in Brookline back in the 80's and Im taking my daughter back to Boston for a visit this spring. The question, what is legal in Boston to carry for self defense, folding knives legal?

I believe Boston has a city ordinance limiting blade length to 2.5".

No double edged blades or auto openers.

No pepper spray / guns / etc without permit.

And even though the state of Texas recognizes our MA permits, we don't recognize your Texas permits

boston is very safe.....much more so than in the 80's......while the bullshit laws suck, unless you go looking for trouble in the wrong neighborhood (no reason to be there in the first place) you won't have a problem

The OP should still be able to exercise his natural right to self defense.

Lots of bad things happen in "very safe" places every day.
