I just recently got an itch for a bullpup rifle and decide I want to get a MSAR STG-556. I called JoJo's and they said there were a couple just in but no more left, so the guy I spoke with took down my info. and said he would contact me if anymore came through. Anyone know of any shops that have any right now or that get them often? I am looking for a used one. I would normally just wait for JoJo's to call me but I would like to get one relatively soon so I have plenty of time to shoot it. Any leads or info. would be much appreciated. Thanks, Ian |

Quoted: Quoted: Checked one out at NGX awhile ago Thanks, I will have to give them a call tomorrow. They have one of the older models that came in the giant pelican case with a bunch of mags and the knife. Had it there for a while. I couldn't get them to come down on the price, but if you can, it is a sweet setup. Call Ratworx. They have ban-state compliant models.

When I looked into the MSAR I found that even the base model had a ridiculous mark up. If I hadn't found a pre-ban, and wasn't an AR fanatic, I would have an MSAR. |

That is exactly what had happened to me. Had a wad of $. Couldn't find an MSAR in-state or ban-state configured for under $1800. (standard non-ban configs were $900 - $1200). Bought pre-ban AR instead. 1 Week later, ratworx calls with MSAR in ban-state config for $1200 or so shipped. I had a little buyer's remorse, but the pre-ban was a smarter buy IMO. It is my "go to" gun. Next long gun is certainly NOT going to be another AR platform, so MSAR is on my radar again, but so is everything else from AK74 to FAL to PS90, etc, etc. The E4 is a really nice firearm from what I can tell. They balance great and feel very "fast". Looks and feels quality. Not bulky like the FS2000 or awkward like the PS90. I think it is the only viable bullpup on the market. Mag changes may suck, but for a HD type carbine, a reload is unlikely and the preference would be for size and speed. |

How I feel as well, I already have a preban AR and didn't really want to build a ban compliant AR so I thought it would be good to try another platform. It seems like a fun firearm to shoot, and a little more ideal for HD because of the shorter length. |

Quoted: have they done anything with the spongy trigger? (vs. the steyr ?) I can't comment on the steyr, being banned by name and all. But the trigger on the MSAR didn't feel any better or worse than the trigger on any other fighting carbine out there, albeit a slightly longer pull. Just an initial impression, as it was only dry-fire. There is at least one trigger kit out there that has a lot of fans that is supposed to really clean-up the slop. I'd check in the bullpup subforum for more info on that. I *think* I had seen this trigger kit at JoJo's over on the wall with the MSAR wafflemags. |
