The saiga in 7.62x39 is legal in CT right? Its not technically an AK-47. and i'm talking about getting a new one.

NO



No AK, regardless of markings, chambered n 7.62x39 is legal in CT unless it is already registered with state police



You can however get an ak in any other caliber, or a SKS or a vz-58

i do not know much about the saiga but if it does not use ak parts in the reciever and does not use ak mags you would  be ok. sks is fine cause it does not use ak internal parts. same bullet

I agree. They shoot great and are higher quality than most AK47 types on the market (IMO).

VZ58 man.  Light, strong, accurate, stupidly simple and efficient design.





The PTR in 7.62x39 is way too big for the caliber.  The only reason that those exist is so that folks that own an Hk Full Auto sear can dump lead cheaper than precious .308win.
