I'm returning to MA (Cape Cod) for vacation in May. I haven't been back there since I moved away 6 years ago. Are there any ranges on the Cape that I can go shoot for the day? When I used to live there I had to be a member and don't remember public ranges.

The only "public " range I know of is here http://www.americanfirearmsschool.com/Pricing.html

Indoor only.

Just be aware that you can NOT bring any guns/ammo into MA w/o a MA NR LTC. Possession otherwise is a felony in a case like yours (limited ability to bring some guns/ammo in for a "match" or "exhibition" w/o LTC, but vacation won't cut it).

You can rent in MA w/o LTC and purchase ammo ONLY for use at that range (can't leave premises with even a spent .22LR case legally).

I used to live on the Cape (now in Maine) and when my father passed away I brought his six rifles and 12 hanguns to Maine. called several agencies to  find out the laws about such a thing and they told me that as long as I was just traveling out of the state I was find to do so. Cant drive back and forth or around with them.

They were wrong (per MGLs) but you did it and nothing bad came of it, so done is done.
