I picked up a .38 for my wife to carry, she has her permit. but she says that she can't carry to work, even if she leaves it locked in her vehicle. She says she could be fired for it.
I thought I had read somewhere that employers could not stop people from having guns in their cars.
which way is it?
Thanks nhdirtmod

As far as I know there is no law that says an employer cannot tell an employee that they aren't allowed to CCW or have a firearm in their vehicle. It's no different than going to a gun shop that has a "no loaded weapons allowed" sign or a mall/store that has a "no firearms" sign. It's private property and the owners can set whatever policies they wish. In the case of the store/mall they can ask you to leave if they catch you with it. If you refuse to leave you can be arrested for tresspassing. In the case of your wife, who is an employee, they can fire her.

If that is their firearms policy then I would follow it or risk being fired if caught.

NH is a "hire at will, fire at will" state.  They don't need to give a reason for firing you...and I am certain that breaking a company policy would give them "will".
