My brother lives in CT.  Like most of us, he's filled with so much hope about change that he wants an AR.

We're looking at a coupla options:  Colt 6400C Match target M4 and the S&W M&P 15 I model.

Questions:  are both OK to own in CT?

We want a 5.56 chamber.  Both guns are listed as .223s.  Is this just politically correct marketing?

The Smith's barrel is supposedly chromed.  What about the Colt?

Thanks for any help.

send him over to newington gun exchange (in newington) or jojo's in southington

they can answer all his legal questions, and get him what he needs at a fair price

as far as ar-15s go, if it is a Colt and says sporter or ar-15 on it, it is illegal
otherwise, any other ar-15s are good to go, in "preban" configuration.
we still have a ban here, but NO ban on magazines

read up on the differences between .223 and 5.56, there is a difference

If those are the options and a Colt 6400C is available to him for purchase we can make it real simple - get the Colt!  Both are 5.56 chambers and both are CL barrel.
