| Anyone else going to the Appleseed shoot in East Granby this weekend? I'll be there with the wife and oldest son. |
Ahhhh... a joyous time of year. It makes me recall my days sitting in the front yard of my fraternity house with a sign that read "WELCOME FRESHMAN GIRLS!" One of my buddies would also go into the dorms and offer to help move girls in with a whole Eddie Haskell routine in front of their parents. So, uhhh... I'm hoping it's a son that you dropped off at college otherwise this might not be all that funny. |

Hmm. Sounds like it will be only on the normal pistol range (there is a hill for a backstop, so any caliber is likely ok) Lots of stuff has changed there since the old manager left (Marshall) Much more uptight, (there were always a lot of uptight members, but Marshall was cool) and members only on the rifle range now. Also has some anoying range buzzers... as always, great skeet, trap and 5 stand facilities if there is any downtime hope everyone who goes enjoys it, I cant make it although ive been wanting to go |

It was a great learning experience, but my Dad and I both agreed it felt very rushed. They handed out a great deal of information and expected people to pick up on it immediately. I wish I could have gone both days, perhaps Day 2 is where you really "learn". I had the 16" Colt 6920/Eagle Arms lower w/ EOTech, my Dad had the 16" Postban Bushmaster M4gery. ETA: Whoever lent us the Front sight tool, Thanks a million! We did not have one and it is certainly easier then trying to use a screw driver. |

I, as mentioned earlier, was the fat dude with the Bushmaster, fixed stock, and Ceiner kit with BDM mags. My wife was shooting the G22, although she was rather easy to pick out. The boy with the long hair was my cross to bear. By "that guy," I assume you were the one who jumped the gun a bit? (Pun intended.) |

Yes I had the sight tool, your welcome, and yes I jumped the gun. Isn't "end of prepartion period" synonomous with Load and FIRE. LOL... I need a longer sling and elbow pads. Colt_45 I've got a nice 223 casing burn on my elbow. LOL..... no worries. Note to others, where elbow pads and long sleeves. You will be close to your neighbors and that stupid shell deflector should be removeable. I was pelting my friend just as badly. He said he was squeezing the trigger and got hit by one of my cases and missed. Oh well. Hyperbaric. Your son needs a haircut but he'll grow out of that phase. That's really cool that you can bring most of the family. |
