Is there any chance of AWB (assault weapon ban) law in CT expiring? Like the federal one did.. I have added it to my wish list for Christmas |
|
Wasn't there a failed compromise proposal during one of the legislative sessions tobe reppeal the assault weapons ban in exchange for the 72 hour lost/stolen bill ? I know the proposal didn't go anywhere (if it was anything more than a rumor), but that shows *some* desire to reppeal it. |

Hate to say it but I agree. What would be the incentive of any politician to file the legislation to remove the ban? Zero. The voting block we present is pretty small compared to all the PC liberal base living here now. While I, too, can dream, hope, and work for a relaxing of that stupid law, I believe that the best we can hope for now is that we maintain the status quo and don't allow things to become any worse here. It would be very easy for CT to follow MA and limite ammo puchases, high-cap mags, registration, etc. That's why forums like this and other local gun forums and state-wide organizations are so important. And, the internet keeps us all connected instantly. Rome |
When you think we have it bad, take a look at mass. At least we dont need special licenses, we can have high cap mags, mail order ammo, and we can own any kind of pistol we want, and its actually possable to get a LTC in CT, try getting one in MA, not quite as easy, not to mention they can shoot you down because they feel like it, or "we arent issuing all lawful licenes" Fuck MA, I would like to see the ban gone too, but at least our laws are livable

give it time, and you will. the only real hope now is that there is a positive result in the heller case that sparks off a firestorm of pro-gun federal and state lawsuits. |
Well the only hope is that things don't get worse..![]() Has anyone read the new proposed federal AWB? After reading the details on that I wanted to vomit. Basically any rifle that accepts a detachable high cap mag was banned.. Because I was resident of the sunshine state when the first federal AWB ban went into effect in the 90's any weapon that was owned before the ban you were allowed to keep without any state registration. And you were free to buy and sell any pre ban rifle within the state.. If another federal AWB was to happen would we as CT residents have to go through some kind of special permitting to maintain what rifles we already purchased? Get out and vote !! |
most likely. the CT AWB forced owners to register their "assault weapons" with the state or get rid of them. unregistered "assault weapons", even if they were owned by a CT resident before the ban, became contraband... |
