How are the laws for shooting in NH?  Can you shoot in your backyard assuming you don't live "within city limits"?

I plan on moving to NH from VT, where I can do pretty much whatever I want, and am curious how the laws are for shooting?

How the ranges?

[Central NH - looking between Loudon and Lincoln -> Campton, Thornton, Bristol, Alenandria, Plymouth area...]

Thanks

I think as long as there aren't any houses within 300 feet, you're good to go.

I went up there a few months ago to meet some buddies that lived up that way.

Awesome range! if I lived within 1 hour of that range,I would be a member there for sure.

The main difference is that in NH you need a CCW permit but you don't in VT but in NH there are no state laws against silencers.

I found a simple but nice 100 yard range at the Belknap County Sportsman's Association in Laconia.  No machine guns at that range.  It is only 10 minutes from my house.  You can also shoot outside of 'city limits'.  I shoot in a sand pit about 10 minutes away.  You can shoot in your backyard as long as it's 300 feet from your neighbour or as long as they don't mind (permission) if you are closer.

Let me be the first to welcome you to this fine state.  I used to live in Lebanon and did a lot of fly-fishing in the White River in VT and its tributaries.

It's a great range.  I rarely go since I live 45 minutes away but I'm a member.  I have closer places to shoot.  I want to support it so it stays there.

Thanks.  Haven't moved yet and may be a year before I do but we will be moving there as soon as we can.
