I just spoke with my FFL who is handling the transfer for my suppressor. The Form 3 was approved and the can is now in Connecticut. I'll be starting the Form 4 paperwork next week. This is a Smith Enterprise / Fisher Enterprises M14SE Crazy Horse direct connect sound suppressor. |

Boy! You didn't waste any time did you Different?? Getting to know the CT regs in a hurry! Is your book finally available? I'll be happy to drive up to West Hartford and meet you at any location you'd like if you'll have one available and autograph it for me! I'll have my checkbook. Rome |

Okay, here's my experience today at West Hartford Police Department: fifteen minutes to get fingerprinted and fifteen minutes to get a NCIC check and CLEO signature on my Forms 4. |
I'll be able to use the can on my NFA Registered M1a or on the M14SE Crazy Horse clone. I need to get a scope and rings for the M14SE Crazy Horse clone. I'll get a Leupold & Stevens, Inc. scope. I need to sell copies of M14 Rifle History and Development before I buy the scope and rings to replenish my M14 projects fund. I also need to get Mrs. Different an Aimpoint Comp dot sight and ring for her 18 " barrel M1A. The shopping list never ends. |

Ah, sounds like you had a fairly straightforward day. When and where is this book available, did you end up using any of the info I gave about my schools rifles in it after all? I get paid on Thursday, let me know where I can get one and I'll help you pay for your toys :) Steve |
Yes, Norwich University in Vermont is mentioned in M14 Rifle History and Development. I was using an on demand publisher but that hasn't worked out like I hoped it would. So, I'll be terminating my agreement with them and publish the book myself. I am meeting with a local printer this Thursday. They say they can print and bind the book for a reasonable cost and two weeks turnaround time. Soooo, this looks to be the route I'll be going to get the book out. LATER, I will accept individual orders. There are four discussion boards that I need to fill the orders for but after those initial deliveries I'll start accepting individual orders. There's no photos but there will be over 101,000 words of information on the military and commerical M14 and all parts and accessories. ETA: My NFA paperwork was mailed 07/20/05. I enclosed a personal check for the $200.00 tax. |
How does the digital fingerprinting work? Do you bring in the NFA print cards, and the machine just laser prints your prints onto it? |
Yes, the detective will roll your fingers on a LCD screen like is done with fingerprinting ink. Each fingerprint image is transferred into the computer memory then laser printed on to the FBI fingerprint cards. The detective can preview each fingerprint image as it is taken so the prints are properly done and won't get rejected. It costs $5.00 per card, $10.00 total. |
Does it print in all the other info also, such as Birthday, Sex, etc? Also what did it print in the "employer" section? Did it print the Police Dept name? |

No. I left the employer section blank went I went to to the police department. I filled it in after I left but I did sign the cards in the presence of the detective. HTH |
