I was surfing the web a week ago and stumbled across a Muzzle brake that looks just like a Flash hider. (it's a muzzlebrake) Now as far as I know,  we CT. residents can't install flash hider on Post-ban AR's. (Am I correct?) Now what is the CT. law on installing another Muzzle brake? Does it have to be repinned and welded? Can I get the barrel threaded only? Someone please throw some law and knowledge my way before I go to prison, loose all my guns, pay a huge fine etc. But most importantly, I have to find that website again...

The CT AWB mimmicks the old federal one. So, no flash hiders on post-ban AR's. The new muzzle brake must be permanently attatched and produce a legal barrel length of 16".

Thanks,

I'm sending my upper into Wilson Combat for the Wilson Combat® Tactical Muzzle Break. It's worth it, the Wilson Tactical Muzzle Break looks much better than the Colt Stock Break.

You can try Josephs's in New Britain. I had them install what is basically an A2 flash hider that is a muzzle break. It  is identical to the EGW style muzzle devices. They are great guys and thier work is exceptional. The muzzle break is pinned in place making it permanent and they even have a few on display.  I will try to find a pic of what it looks like. Price was around $100 installed and turn around time was less than 14 days. Good Luck.

I would appreciate all your help since the Gunsmith is local. What do you think of the
Generation II AR Post-Ban Comp? Using your expertise, should I go for the Generation II AR Post-Ban Comp? I almost went for the Wilson Tactical Muzzle Break. Do you have the telephone# for Joseph's in New Britian?

I am by no means an expert, I was just sharing an experience I had. Give Joseph's a call or better yet take a ride to thier shop. Ask for Jody or John.

I used a Cav-Comp on one of my builds, they look pretty decent.  I pinned and welded it myself.

A muzzle brake or compensator is OK here in CT as long as it is permenently attached.

Yes, that is a fixed M4 stock
