Dont know about the availability here in OKC, as i stopped looking awhile back. Today in the Belle Island Walmart while shopping i just happened to be by the ammunition and looked...they had about 7 boxes of Winchester 36 gr, 1280fps, copper coated HP, 555 rounds box for 24.95, 30 something counting the tax. So i bought a box. Last .22 i bought were Remington 330 round box at Cabellas in Glendale, AZ back in like 2010 for 19 and change before tax. So not a huge price difference from then to now and considering 555 rounds versus the 330.
Anyways, just thought i would share...have a good one. |

WalMart in Shawnee is just about the only place that doesn't have 22 anymore, H&H has quite a variety of 22 ammo, albeit at fairly high prices, this new sporting goods store here in Shawnee has had a good selection at pretty good prices, its not that hard to get anymore. I always check when I go to WalMart here, no 22 at all, none, zero, zip, its been several years since they had any. |

I'm convinced that some people obsess with getting every 22 round they can get their grubby little hands on so they can step back and look at their big pile and touch themselves to it. I do walk by every time I go to WalMart and they never have any. One day (a year ago), somehow I found myself in the Owasso WalMart at around 7am. There were a few people standing around by the ammo cabinet in a line. I asked the sporting goods attendant if they knew 22 was about to be stocked. She said "No, they are just hoping. They come here and do this every morning." Then a guy comes by on one of those little electric carts and says, "Hey guys.. I've got about 20,000 rounds of 22. What would you be willing to pay per box?" I just walked off. If 22 isn't available, guess what? I'm just getting 5.56 or 7.62. I'd rather shoot that anyway. |

Dunham's Sports, in Shawnee Mall, they took over the space that Sears was in, the entire space, so its a pretty good size store. Firearms dept is not great but not bad either. They carry a ton of sports stuff, similar to an Academy or one of the other major sporting goods chains. There aren't any of these in Ark, Kansas, Texas, New Mexico, they are mainly in the North East part of the country. http://www.dunhamssports.com/stores/4901-n-kickapoo-st-shawnee-ok/ http://www.dunhamssports.com/ I hope they do enough business to do well in Shawnee, its a pretty nice store for a city of this size, of course Shawnee is growing like a weed the last few years. From press releases: Dunham’s Sports, a Michigan-based company, plans to open a store at Shawnee Mall, "This is one of only four stores west of the Mississippi River,” Burg said. "Al Blazek, Dunham’s Sports marketing director, told me that the store is projected to employ 25-45 people between full and part-time positions.” Dunham’s Sports has more than 200 stores across 17 states in the northeast, according to their website |
