It was a pretty safe bet he would do well in the general election, and he did. Of course thinking someone is going to do well is no reason to lay back, overconfidence has killed a lot of political candidates. When the Sheriff I worked for failed to get reelected by less than 100 votes, the next day the office fielded several hundred phone calls from people who thought it was a shoe in and didn't bother to vote! |
