I'm looking to build one but id like to see plans with a material list. Just a simple table. The only one with a material list I've seen is one kicked out by the NRA years back but I know it'll cost $$ to build. I was about to get wood fr Lowes to build today but I think most of their lumber was left outside in the rain cause all I felt was damp, green wood |

I started with these plans but modified them to work in area that I had. http://www.familyhandyman.com/workshop/workbench/how-to-build-a-workbench-super-simple-50-bench |

Wingmans stand is nice, my reloading bench way back when, was of similar construction except mine was about half the length of his...very strong with the 2x6s i used. I revised this a little when i lived in CT for work benches which i would incorporate into any future reloading benches. The top would be 3/4" MDF with a single sided, 1/4" plywood on top...painted all with a good like cement floor paint.
The reason i went with solid top was i didnt like the edges of the 2x6s, wanted complete smoothness...the 1/4" was used for like a veneer...i always one way or the other, eventually trash my bench tops...so when they get trashed enough, i can simply add another 1/4" sheet on top, or remove the damaged one and replace. Dont know if wingman did or not, but working with lumber like this for benches, i always glue all pieces together, and double lag bolt everything in the stand...nothing i hate worse then a wobbly workbench. Wingmans looks pretty solid. |

I like wingmans bench, I've been figuring on 2x6s or even 8s for a while. Mine will have to be small so I figure a 10 or 12 ft should do it by cutting it right. Then 2x4 the rest. |

Here is what I came up while using those plans. It's a bit shorter and obviously the top shelf doesn't run the whole length.
It's current state. Added the peg board and lighting. I am working on a universal mount for the vise and a Lee turret press so I can swap them or leave them off.

Got the 2x6s cut today, it'll be a weekend project. |

Looking back, one thing I didn't do that I would now, I used 2x6's for the top, I should have added a solid sheet of plywood for a somewhat smoother top. Mine is all bolted together and has diagonals added for stiffness, decking screws were used to secure the top to the frame. |

Mine at my last house. Now everything is in storage :( ... No cracks about the wall paper
Right hand press has been upgraded to a Honraday LNL with case and bullet feeders. ETA. I have built several over the years . Double whatever you think the top should be thickness wise. The picture is 3/4 inch with another 3/4 inch backer 1 foot square under the presses and they still flex a bit. http://i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac181/mudbug63/DSCF0017.jpg http://i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac181/mudbug63/LNL.jpg Hey, the wall paper matches your presses!!! |
