We just sort of happened on to it, didn't know it was going on and hadn't heard anything about it but it's going on thru Saturday. A lot more vendors than last time I went and some cool stuff. I was talking to the Ruger rep and told him I was a huge Ruger fan and he gave me and my sis a sweet Ruger ball cap Anywho, since they didn't advertise anywhere that I saw, you guys should check it out. I FINALLY got to shoot my birthday gun (Ruger Single Six Convertible) and it is awesome!!!! More fun than floggin' frawgs... |

I was in OKC today for a Dr's appointment, by sheer bad luck this was the day my scope was to be delivered by US Mail, mail usually runs 1:00 to 1:30, I couldn't get home in time but wanted to minimize the amount of time it was sitting on the porch, so I only took time to eat lunch and head home, got home about 2:30 and the mail hadn't run yet, must be the regular guys day off, substitute came by about 4:30. So, no chance to stop by and window shop at H&H. |

That's no good, it was actually a better expo than past events. It goes to Saturday so you still have a shot at going if come back into town. Saturday is the big day, that's when they have the giveaway. I heard one vendor talking about how they had to be sure to save enough hats to have plenty for Saturday. Apparently everyone tries to score a hat because I heard several people talking about it, even vendors who wanted to score a hat from other vendors.
Unfortunately Looper didn't have any hats or cool swag or I would have hit Patrick up for some LOL. I got a little Henry rifles patch and the Ruger ball cap so I'm happy. The only thing I was not so impressed with was some vendors didn't seem to interested in the people at their tables because they were too busy talking to each other but overall, I was impressed. I'll try to remember the vendors I saw since in previous expos there wasn't very many but this year, quite a few. I'm betting there will be more Saturday. Ruger Beretta Benelli S&W Taurus Charter Arms Trijicon A table with lots of night vision stuff but I don't rember the name Leupold HK Walther Looper Leather Springfield Armory ...and several I can't remember. |

I hadn't seen or heard anything about it so thanks for the heads up, Brandi. I'll have to swing in this weekend and get myself a swag bag. Apparently you don't take the Daily Oklahoman, full page ads at least a couple of days this week. Lol you are correct. I don't receive any newspaper and I don't have cable. I stopped by earlier this morning. I didn't stay long since I was just tire kicking anyways but it was fun checking some things out. |

Went by Fri. morning to get some reloading stuff, 100s of cars but it was to late, cars behind me so I was going to drive to the end and turn around. Got by the front door and there was parking spot so I went in, way too crowded for me so I turned around to leave, but not before a nice talked my out 10 bucks for some raffle tickets
That was my crowd fix till the NRA next month. Glad it was Fri. and not Sat. |

I was in OKC Thursday but didn't go by, I had originally intended to eat lunch there, those onion burgers always smell so good I was going to eat there, but I knew with the EXPO it would be horribly crowded, plus I had to get home since that scope should have been sitting on my porch. As it turned out there wasn't as much hurry as I thought, my regular mailman isn't consistent on what day he takes off for his 5 day work week, as it turned out, it was that day, and mail ran way late, as it always does on my mailman's day off, I had a lot more time than I expected, I had to wait a couple of hours after I got home for the mail to be delivered. |

Not to make it worse but on Thursday it wasn't very crowded at all. We walked in, rented a lane, had an onion burger and fries, walked around looking at all the stuff, scored a free Ruger ball cap each and went in and shot for a couple hours. We were the only ones that I saw who were shooting our own guns and not the dealer stuff.
There were three guys that rented a Ruger Super Redhawk .44 magnum that came to shoot by us. All three friends one from Australia, one from New Zealand and one from Scotland where they aren't allowed to have anything but a shotgun. None of the three had ever handled or shot a handgun so they went for the gusto and rented a .44 magnum. They had a range officer showing them what to do and how to shoot, those guys had a blast (no pun intended)! After they have shot up their supply of .44 magnum I told the range officer I would let them shoot my Ruger Blackhawk. He asked them if they wanted to shoot a "cowboy" gun and they were pretty surprised but said "yes"! LOL. So two of the three got to shoot the Blackhawk, the third had wandered off to look at stuff and missed out but it was fun for the other two. No doubt they will have plenty of stories to tell when they get home which is pretty cool. It was worth the ammo to me for these guys who had no access to guns in their home countries. |
