I'm pretty sure it's pretty expensive but how much does it usually cost to lease a decent piece of land? Since me finding a place to hunt hasn't happened in forever I thought it might be an option. Although finding one locally is probably impossible. Brandi just wants to get some deers and piggies maybe |

Be ready to give up an arm and possibly a leg, especially for something pretty close to home. lol
Deers n piggies n such can be found on public land, and if you can go during the week your chances should go up quite a big for harvesting somethin. And most of the idiot weekend warriors will be leaving sunday afternoonish so they can get back at work. |

I've tried public land long time ago and never had a good experience doing it. From crappy deer numbers to other hunters walking through a carefully selected spot like they were walking down the boardwalk. I've even had other hunters walk by not wearing their orange, talking out loud as they went by and gave a wave like it was nothing. I don't do public anymore, it's just not worth the aggravation.
Oh well... |
Gotta be able to go during the week on public to make it a nice experience. A few years ago I was huntin....bout, 9:30am....chainsaw fires up....bout 30 mins later they're shootin rocks in the creek, I can tell by ALL the 'ziiiings' i heard. That guy about had holes in his truck, instead called the Ranger on him n they at least knew about the idiot n where he was camped n everything....doubt if he at least got talked to but it was a safer choice then what I wanted to do.

| Brandi, my recommendation is to save your money and book a hunt in a state that has better game laws. If you buy property down here people will just tresspasse or steel you blind. Let somebody else have the liability and pay them to guide you and pattern the game. The other alternative is to contact the Timber companies such as Bean in Hartford ARK. or Werhouser and see if any clubs that are leasing from them are excepting members. Reeds the largest land owners down here are cutting up their property. You can contact Donald Caldwell he is their property reprisenative and see if they are leasing any are might have small tract near National Forest. Good Luck. |
