So we have an easement on our property running the East fence, about 45-50 yds from the house. I stepped it off for a bit and then got our Hilti laser measuring tool out and set up a scrap piece of white aluminum coil for a reflective backer. Comes out to approximately 355 yards of sectioned-off easement, with anywhere from 0-263 yds of usable range area. There is nothing behind the target area for about a half mile, and anything that's there is over a hill and out of sight bigtime.
I'm thinking of setting up on one of the hills for a 200 yard gun range and getting some brush hogging done and maybe push up a bit of dirt for more backer just in case. Anyways, I had a good time figuring it all up, at least once I decided to use the four-wheeler ![]()
Can't wait to get it set up! This and the pistol range in a dry pond up by the house, all about 6mi. due north of Lex gun range Could be an alternative if nothing is available to shoot FA or longer (200 yd) shooting Gotta get to work on it |

Is it finished yet? Tomorrow is gun cleaning day which means I have to get them dirty soon after The only good reason to detox is to retox
Ummm no. I didnt brush hog, push up dirt, and set up target areas in 4.5 hours overnight ![]() ![]() Well quit slacking and get to it! |

Stock up on ammo and reloading components. When you have your own range, you end up shooting a lot more. ![]() yep, when you're watching tv and a commercial is on you can just step out on the porch and fire a few rounds; then go back in and watch some more of your show. |

Got some of the mowing done... Lookin pretty spiffy!
There's a venison trail going through most of it, actually there are two or three trails they've worn bare Oh... And a 65ft tall cotton wood to put a tree stand in! If it works out, it'll end up being a 250yd range Beware, targets... Alive and walkin or cold steel. Who knows the best place to get AR500 targets made up? I used a shop off of 27th street in Moore to cut me some custom mild steel targets for a pistol caliber dueling tree... They turned out great, but were too large and had too much mass for anything short of 45ACP out of the Tommy Gun I want about four targets appx 12" in diameter I guess |

All you need is a fishing pond for when you run out of ammo. Well I bet our pond only has the five goldfish in it that we put in when we moved keep an eye open for when ellison's host the fish stock truck; iirc they do catfish, bass, crappie and feeder fish |

Well I locked the others up and went looking for her at the pond, but she wasn't there. There was, however, a crane eating a 8-9" fish that was not one of our goldfish! So there are fish! |
