brings the joke from "preditor" to mind
hey billy the other day I ask my GF for a little beaver; and she replied "me too, cause mine's as big as a house"
get it billy? as big as a house bucktoothed beaver isn't bad eating long as you get all the fat off it, musk/oil gland, if not it taste rancid as hell. |

I thought you were required to stop wearing headphones around your neck after high school unless you live in California? Did they eat the beaver? According to Andrew Zimmerman and several people in the north they are quite tasty. I don't like beaver tail. I've had it and it's a bit too gamy and stringy for my taste buds. It's better than greasy coon or possum though. The only really exotic things I'd like to taste again is armadillo and turtle. But I ain't going to the trouble of fixing it. |

I like rattlesnake, turtle, alligator, squirrel, rabbit and of course venison when I can get it. Rattlesnake it too bony if you fry sections of it.
Squirrel and rabbit I gave up long ago. Hadn't had any alligator since I lived in Louisiana. Venison I got plenty of.

come buy a burrito from the trucks around my work hood, and you're liable to experience all that and so much meow, uh, more. Don't see too many stray dogs or cats around anymore?

Aren't armadillos carriers of leprosy or some such? And sheep carry syphilis.
It takes quite a bit more to get leprosy than handling an armadillo. I worked with an ex-Navy SEAL of the Viet Nam era who had 400 or so Egyptian cobras he milked for medical companies. He was one hell of a snake handler and had been bit over 30 times. It's been 15 years since I've seen him. He was having lots of medical problems and is now probably dead. Every Christmas our employer let everyone off for two weeks. He would go to Costa Rica with a local priest and go into the jungle finding Indian children with leprosy. They would take the kids to a leprosy colony where they would be cured. Leprosy is still a concern in tropical regions but not near as much as it once was. |
