Wife and I went to Norman for dinner. Just after we left we were cruising down a two lane highway at about 65 mph.
There was a white late model Chevy pickup traveling in the on-coming lane. He crossed the center line about 100 yards out fully into our lane.
Thank God there was no sign, guard rail or culvert when I left the pavement. The Dodge Durango we have takes off roading at
65+ miles an hour pretty well. Didn't have to change my shorts but it was a close call. Hence the name of this thread.

Good that you were able to avoid them!!

My dad and I were riding out to Eufaula on our bikes about two years ago, and came over a hill to find an old man passing another group of about 20 bikes going up a hill in a no passing zone with no room to do anything... We were able to shut em down and ride the edge of our lane just keeping off the grass long enough for him to finish passing and get out of our lane! That was about as close as it gets on a bike, doing 65mph comin over a hill

I told him he was no. 1 and started counting blessings

Don't know if the guy was drunk or what but I knew it was fixing to be a bad day. Took about fifteen minutes to come down from the adrenalin rush on this one.

Drunk or texting.  I got rear ended in my old Buick work car, the kid totaled it, and guess what?  He was playing with his phone, I heard him admit that to a friend who showed up looking for him after the accident.
