Anybody know of somewhere in the general OKC area I could get some Delrin plastic blocks without spending a small fortune?  Ideal would be black Delrin 1"x1"x1" or something a bit bigger than I can work down to a smaller size. I can order it from McMaster Carr but it would be nice to find a local source.

I got some a few years ago from a machine shop. I just asked if they had some scraps they would sell me.
I think I spent $5 for three pieces big enough to use for the whatcamacallit I put together.

You could always try the R/C hobby shops if all else fails.

I used a heavy duty cutting board from walmart, cut it into strips with a table saw, but any saw will do, it's approx 1/2" or maybe 9/16" thick so you could epoxy it together if it isn't absolutely critical it not have a joint.

it made a pretty good set of padded jaws for my bench vice.

Pretty good advice, Brother L!

yep regal, forgot about them.....if it's plastic they've probably got it in stock price be damned

it is pretty cool to see a demo of their "lexan" bullet proof material...............at least if I recall it's called "lexan"; it's been 20something years since I was last at regal

I bought a sheet of Delrin about 20 years ago at Regal. It cost me well over $150 and another $150 to have the machine shop make the strips out of it.
That crap ain't cheap. The fall off I bought from a machine shop was cheap because it was not usable. I made stand off's for a knife switch with those pieces.
If you go in to Regal and ask for certain custom size pieces, you are gonna pay through the nose.

I use Interstate Plastics @ www.interstateplastics.com. I paid $90 for a 1.25 x 12 x 12 block of delrin. Shipping was $22. The stuff is heavy.

I measured the item I wanted to duplicate to pin down the dimensions a bit better, McMaster Carr has a 5/8"x1"X1 foot bar for $8.09, the down side would be shipping would almost be as much as the item.
