I attended their meeting tonight and I joined after listening to what they plan to do this legislative session.
They are actively contacting Oklahoma legislators and working on many bills to maximize our 2A rights in the state.
They are HERE in the state and they are WORKING for the gun owners of Oklahoma. They are not paid lobbyists but citizen activists and deserve the support of any concerned about our state legislature and 2A state laws.
They are working to move restrictions on both SDA laws such as reducing the costs to obtain a license, sponsoring legislation to prevent gun ranges from being sued over accidents, etc.
If you are concerned about the way things are going in this state such as the CareerTechs and the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce working behind the scenes to take way our 2A rights, then I highly recommend you join the organization.
For a Basic membership it is $20 per year that is well spent.

The website comes up for me.
If you can't get the website open, here is some more information about a meeting in OKC.
OKC Metro Chapter
Time & Date: Tuesday, January 17 at 6:30 PM.
Location: H&H Gun Range (400 S Vermont, Suite 110).
Program: Dr. Tom Vineyard, pastor of Windsor Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. While serving as a missionary in Africa, he and his family were robbed at gunpoint in their home. His story is a stark reminder of why we need to be free to defend our homes and our families.

Or you can email them at [email protected].

The website does open up for me too. However when you go to Support OK2A section, there is a note that says it is under construction. No way to join and no information how to join on the site for those that don't make it to the meetings to join.

Email them at the addy I posted above and ask about membership.
They should take care of you.
I'll get a membership application and post it for those interested.
The address is on the app so you can mail it in.

I understand what you posted. However, I was clarifying what was previously posted about no information on their site about how to join or support OK2A.

For an organization trying to expand membership and grow in the state, it should be pretty dang important to include as much information on the site about how to join as possible. Making it as easy as possible on people looking to give their money to help support the organization and to help further 2A in Oklahoma should be a pretty high priority, especially in this economy.

EDT: I checked every website they link to that is membership-based orgranization and all have a very prominent and easy to find JOIN link on the front page.

Since it seems some here have already joined and some might be more involved in the organization, I also wanted to ask a question for those that have been to a meeting or joined about OK2A stance on another issue that is not mentioned on their site.

Suppressors for hunting: Senator Russel said he has already filed a bill for next legislative session. Does OK2A intend on supporting and getting this measure passed?

Suppressors weren't discussed. I have no idea of whether it is on their legislative agenda or not.
Here is some information from their sign up form.

I'll email you a PDF copy of this if you will IM your email address to me.

ETA They have someone handle their website and they did say considerable changes were going to occur in it soon.
I'm sure the join feature will be added.
Like I said, they are all "citizen activists" and not paid lobbyists. They visit the state capitol and the legislators on their own time from work.
The more help they have, the better off we all will be.

I'm definitely interested.  I'm not sure I'm ready to join but I'll keep an eye on their website.

I would like to attend their meeting on the 17th at least and size em up

ETA: I also want to find out more because I severely dislike those who read the second amendment and instead of "shall not be infringed" place "may be infringed upon a little bit depending on the circumstances"... If you look at the past period of time (100 yrs +/-a few) when crap started going south in this country, it can be directly correlated to treating the constitution as a "living document" that is to be interpreted as the times changed. Citizens weren't disallowed ownership of the latest and greatest muzzle loader, and forced to brandish less-capable weapons such as bows and arrows, or forced to only own muzzle loaders when the repeating rifle came of age, so shy is the equivalent of that okay with so many today?

I will look at attending that meeting on the 17th at H&H as well. I would like to know what all are they backing. Is it just issues they want to handpick or are they going to be backing all gun related bills?

I really want to get suppressors allowed for all hunting by just removing that restriction from the regulations. I am not sure what Senator Russell's new bill says as I could not find it on the OK Congress site.

I am hoping with suppressors getting more widespread and getting more push from the manufacturers will help get the bill passed. Hopefully it won't get sacrificed for open carry again.

The directors that were at the meeting are what I call "strict constitutionalists" that means NOTHING shall infringe the right of a citizen to carry a firearm or weapon.

Another problem with the whole suppressor issue is the time it takes and the wickets that one must go through to be allowed to own them. These are a definate sticking point for some people, who will not put themselves through all that mess to own them.

I agree as I am currently waiting on getting a form approved for the last suppressor I purchased. The only thing really making it somewhat easier is the dealer is a buddy of mine and I get to go shoot it when we go shooting together.

I do think there is some push to the address timeframe and/or cost by some in the industry and with Congress.

I think it was on Shooting USA last night where there was a whole segment on how suppressors are a safety device and not a firearm. The guy said he felt we should be allowed to walk into a store, pay the $5 tax, and walk out that day with a suppressor. I agree. As it was said on the show, "If you put a bullet and a suppressor together nothing happens".

This group seems interesting to me.  I was active in an NRA affiliate org in Iowa (we passed shall issue and unrestricted open carry as well as outlawed local preemption) and I've been hoping one would pop up around here so I could  possibly devote some hard time to 2A rights in OK.  Hopefully I can make a meeting sometime soon.

I made it up there and it was a pretty good meeting. Everyone was great and the speaking as well. Sarah McKinsey? was in attendance (the girl from Blanchard) she shared her story, and we all pitched in a little bit to help her out.

I joined, and plan on attending the meetings from now on. Every 3rd Tuesday at H&H at 6:30

Had a good time. Some of the legislative pieces on the table are expanding the "make my day" and "stand your ground" laws to strengthen them and open up the wording to extend the make my day to one's property line, and to give the protection to landowners, as it already exists in the make my day law, from civil suits filed by the dead scumbag's family

Any word on their stand on carrying firearms?

Starting next week it looks like I'll be having Tuesday nights free for the foreseeable future.  I'll try to make the next meeting.

Yes. Open carry AZ style. One guy talked about how sensitive this state is and how we need to re-educate the populace to be accepting of a 44 mag strapped onto a suit and tie. Also wanting to eliminate the ban on carrying into the Capitol and other state buildings. If Texas can have it and not fall into bloody anarchy then why can't we?! So yeah good for expansion of carry rights.
