Took an old friend hunting who hadn't been in 5 years. He's suffering from cancer and heart problems but I got him into some deer.
He whacked a doe and my son came out to trail it for us while we loaded up the cull buck and big doe I shot.
Matt kicked up a doe and filled his last rifle doe tag. We didn't find Stanley's deer but will tomorrow.
We'd hunted together for a long time years ago, had lots of fun, along with my dad and other friends in Crescent.
Stanley had a great time even if we didn't find the doe he shot. It jumped about 5 feet in the air and kicked then took off.
Mine went down immediately. We went and picked it up in the truck, then pulled back to our original spot about 200 yards from the feeder.
Then we watched this 3 yo buck chasing a doe and I said to hell with it, I'm tired of hunting for a big buck and shot this spike.
Matt showed up while we loading up the buck then went after the doe Stanley had hit. He actually thought the doe he shot was Stanley's.
Oh, well, it was one hell of a good time just like we had when Matthew was a baby 30 years ago in Crescent.

Wow...that's awesome.  I'm jealous, I haven't been deer hunting in ten years. Hard to beat a hunt like that with a friend. Maybe I'll dust off my old PSE or rifle and give it a try next year. I'm having venison withdrawals lol.

Congrats guys

Brother L, you are one of the guys that would know what it means to have a day like that. It brought back some really great memories when we use to do things like that every deer season. Matt is grinning because he had a very short but intense hunt that was a lot of fun. He's heard me and my buddy George talk about the things we did 30 years ago and now he knows what we meant.
Stanley (an old butcher) had the best time he's had in years. I'm still grinning.
It put me in a great mood to play Santa Claus this morning.

I've seen quite a few good bucks taken out of my area this year, they're all kind of skinny though, but they must have gotten enough nutrients cause most of them had good sized antlers.

I've been wanting to hunt hogs forever but I just don't have anywhere to do it. Hopefully the pig invasion will get bad enough around OKC that I'll see them standing in line at Walmart...then I should be able to find some lol

If it will make Kyler swell up with pride, it'll be the best $1 I ever lost.
