i got tired if the same old, and tried something so new, it was old again.
or maybe so old it was new.
started this a year ago.

started with a billet  80% Quentin Defence lower, and a trip to Ident Marking.

then a visit to Victor at U.S Anodizing, a one off slip ring, a A1 grip, stainless lpk, billet A1 carry handle from CNC Gunsmithing custon handguards, and...

next, while waiting on a .458 Socom barrel a White Oaks Armament .223  CMP Service Rifle barrel, and a billet Quentin Defense upper ambles along.
the original plan was to use a carry handle and shoot the .223 in Service Rifle Matches, the spirit's there but the flesh (eyes) are weak

finally, the Rock River .458 Socom  mid- length upper shows up, Woo Hoo! NOW the fun starts.
first i sell off the unused stuff keeping just the barrel and bolt.
bye bye RR stuff.
send the barrel to Adco for reprofiling from .936" to .750" under the fsb, and forward.( its 1" under the handguards!)
got rid of the RR markings as a bonus.
then another trip to Ident, for my engraving, then another trip for Electroless Nickel plating and i'm  DONE!

7 lbs. 4 oz.s w/o mag (.458)
still a couple minor nits, different scope and i'm not fond of the carry handle and scope mount nuts, but mostly done.
