WTH are you talking about? Where does it say anything about re-painting? The wood looks like that because that is what wood looks like after it sits out in the weather. It will still last for years. My car hauler (which you've seen) is over 10 years old and I have changed out the wood once.

You are one hard SOB to please bubba I'd suggest you buy new then.

Probably. I've rattle canned mine a couple of times. It's a trailer man, not a show car.

When you look at the "workmanship" on many of those utility trailers, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if it came from the factory like that.  Just about every one of those utility trailers I've looked at had painted over rust that was flaking off, workmanship on many of those is really shoddy.
