Hassan's jury is being selected from officers stationed at Fort Sill according to KJTL.

Courts Martial are open or closed, like NJP, right?

What do you think the odds are that I'd be able to attend if it's open? (I'm guessing pretty low with the news coverage and muckity-mucks probably getting preference)

I'd say if it was up to the CG, it would be locked up/closed with guards posted with deadly force authorized. I'd be surprised if lowly peons like us could get in either way. If I hear anything, i'll let you know.

You guys lost me on the terminology.  So he will have a court martial military style, from what I gather.  I know nothing about court martial trials––how do they differ than a trial in the civilian world?  Obviously the jury is officers instead of civilians.

Not trying to be a smart ass, just was wondering.

They're open, unless the MJ closes it. If you wanna attend a trial at Sill, go to Taylor Hall, go up to the second floor, and have a seat in the gallery.

It's run under the Manual for Courts-Martial. It's very similar, however some terminology is specific to the .mil.

My guess is that the III Corps Commander personally selected the panel of officers and alternates. They will likely be guys / gals that have combat experience and are somehow associated with his field of work as well. A trial like this one will garner the most stellar panel of top performing officers (since he was an officer he gets an officer panel but can't remember if there are few senior NCOs on it as well).

I sat on several courts martial and even a war crimes trial. The soldiers selected for this duty take these type of cases very seriously. If they weigh the evidence correctly and he is found guilty, this guy could actually get the death penalty. Since his victims were all soldiers and those that support hem, he might even get executed.

I wonder if they give him an execution if they will ask for volunteers.
I'm sure they won't hurt for applicants.

Pig skins? That's a win-win. Get to hunt feral hogs and then use them as burial blankets.

I'll even bring the pig skins but I don't want to shoot him.  I want to give him a death of a thousand cuts.  Takes a little longer.

No, I  wouldn't want him treated like an animal like having his head chopped off.
A quick one in the skull and buried in pig skins achieves the same effect.
He's dead.

As much as I'd like to see it happen, I don't think it will. They will probably lock him up in Leavenworth or a nice cozy mental hospital for 20 years or so at the taxpayers expense. Heaven forbid we actually execute a killer.

I'm sure he'll get a nice panel of officers that will thoughtfully weigh the evidence, then find that fucker guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Personally, while I like the idea of putting that rabid dog down, the idea of him shitting himself for the next 40 years and depending on an infidel to feed him amuses me.

I don't think he'll walk anywhere except in the pits of hell.
He'll have to roll anywhere he goes if he's still breathing.
Which I hope isn't much longer.

It tears me up Brother L,
I want to pray for his immediate death but that isn't the right thing to do.
It wouldn't surprise me if he is released in a few years by a presidential pardon.
But he will burn in hell I'm sure.
But not soon enough to suit most of us.

With Obamacare, the Muslims are exempt because of dhimmitude. They believe insurance is an affront to Allah's will so they are exempt because of the "religious conviction exemption". That does include Christians Scientists, etc.
But you'll never convince me it wasn't because of Obama's Muslim unbringing.
