Does anybody know of any stores in the OKC/Edmond area that sell 6.8 ammo? I just moved from texas and would really prefer not to have to buy all my ammo online

last time I recall Rat speaking about 6.8 ammo he'd bought from SSA and then started reloading, something about not wanting to pay a buck a round to punch paper with. This, I only use SSA loaded ammo, and brass. I reload, so I like all of my brass to be the same. I only use small rifle primer brass ( Rem Brass is large primer, and so are some of the others ). I don't know about OKC availability, but I find better deals on line, most of the time. |
| Stop worrying about where to buy the ammo, and concentrate on buying loading dies. Mix a pinch of powder, a half pint of brass, a box of bullets, and a cup of primers, then let it simmer on the progressive. Keep enough groceries in the house, and your rifle will never go hungry. |

| I have a very large akrobin full of .45 fresh off the press, and a bunch of .38 Super too. My pistolas need some daddy time. Did I mention I also load rifle ammo. |

Rat the 6.8 man here, He will be with you soon, ![]() Sorry, I haven't been on here in a couple of weeks. I don't know of any place local that sells 6.8 brass. Ndenway is correct, I bought 750 rounds of once fired SSA small rifle primer brass, along with box of 100 of the 90gr hollow point "plinker rounds" and then 3 boxes of 20 of the 110 gr Accubonds (2 boxes) and a box of the 110gr Sierra ProHunters. For the factory loaded stuff I think I spent $150 bucks for that. And yeah, I got into reloading when I got my 68 rig. I don't have the money to be spending a buck a round for punchin holes in paper. I haven't checked at Bass Pro downtown so I don't know if they have anything for the 68 on thier shelves or not. I hope this helps. |

Don't worry Rat. NOBODY can replace you at the truck stops!
All BS aside, you've got a great rifle in that 6.8. I liked it but I'm gonna pass on building one. I'm gonna stick with the old calibers being the old fudd that I am. Why don't you put up some pics of the rifle your brother built your dad? That would turn everybody's head!!!!!! |
