Why not just order one from the CMP? Thats where most of the Garands come from anyhow. done checked the site out already, if I can find one local I like for the around the same price as the cmp I'll buy local, if not I'll go through the cmp process, I just like looking at a used gun before buying. |

This is the key reason I havent ordered anything from the CMP yet, although the ammo is making me think about it. |

I've been considering a road trip to the south store for some time. Every time I get enough in the slush fund to actually make the trip, something comes up. that's what always happens, been debating getting a complete 6x45 upper I seen online or another garand. bought the garand today, mostly cause I wanted it, partly because I don't want a complete 6x45 upper, I just want a 20" hbar 6x45 barrel which I haven't been able to located that I'm willing to pay the asking price. |

what's the shits about this garand I bought is the hackjob rubber buttplate and finger grooves done to the stock, all the parts are stamped SA, fit tight and have a good finish on them, the rear sight/knobs are nice and tight, it's got a nm 062 front, good shiney bore/rifling with no pits and the muzzle isn't dinged up.
the stock has damn good looking grain in it and is fitted damn tight to the action, no wobble that I can feel; I'll have to do some more shooting with it at a bit farther distance, but it grouped pretty damn well at 50 yards with mixed 150 and some 165gr ammo, if it shoots as well at a 100, which I'm sure it will, I'll leave it on, if not I'm going to fit a boyds to the action. going to do a bit more shooting this evening when I get off work, at least shoot up the last of my old loadings, last night I loaded up some of the rem brass with cci34, aa2460 and some pulled 150gr hornaday btsp, I'll tweak them a bit this weekend. now I got to get another bayonet |
