Oklahoma's CCW has some nice aspects and some drawbacks.

The positives:

1. Recognized in 34 states.
2. Shall issue state.

The negatives:
1.  Ridiculously long 90 day processing time.  There's a high speed HTF member who's trying to get this time shortened.
2.  No caliber larger than .45 for carry.  I think .45 does it all,  so I'm not concerned,  but this does effectively rule out the S&W 500's and other
    hand cannons.
3.  Some states (Nevada) don't recognize Oklahoma's CCW because a background check isn't done at renewal.
4.  More expensive compared to some other states.

The in-between:
1.  Required class that's so easy a caveman could do it.  If you're going to require a class,  at least make it comprehensive enough to weed out the few who can't hit the broadside of a barn from the inside and the idiots who think there's a benefit to holding the handgun sideways.

That's right. Who cares if you have years of experience, hundreds of hours of training, and actually carry a gun for a living. Everyone has to pay the toll to the state troll guarding the bridge to CCW land.
