Oklahoma's CCW has some nice aspects and some drawbacks.
The positives: 1. Recognized in 34 states. 2. Shall issue state. The negatives: 1. Ridiculously long 90 day processing time. There's a high speed HTF member who's trying to get this time shortened. 2. No caliber larger than .45 for carry. I think .45 does it all, so I'm not concerned, but this does effectively rule out the S&W 500's and other hand cannons. 3. Some states (Nevada) don't recognize Oklahoma's CCW because a background check isn't done at renewal. 4. More expensive compared to some other states. The in-between: 1. Required class |
