| Do they not let people from arfcom sign up for accounts on their site? I tried a couple of weeks ago and have never received an activation email. I even emailed them later and asked about it but got no response. Things have gotten so damn quite around here that I am unterested in lurking their site for a while to check out the drama over there. |
Hell even I still go there. Although not nearly as much as when they first started up. A guy can only take being called a bigot so many times anyway Then again, I'd take the bait from a couple of people over there. Eh....you live and learn. You have to remember that its a spin off from glock talk after all In that case, you'd fit right in
Mike- some personal advice for you when you go over there (allow me to offer some as I know a bit about you). Stay out of the political forum-unless you want your head to explode. There are a LOT more people on there. Of various beliefs. Many more liberal than frequents these parts. You will see that even in the general forum. HHHmmmm....maybe I'd better add a disclaimer so I don't get the ban hammer. I mean no disrespect against OSA. Just trying to "help a brother out".
One more item since I'm "in one of those moods". I'd post more here, but it's not as fun as it was. Like him or hate him Dan sure was the "soul" of the OKHTF. Since he was run off..........well this place is the worse for it. |

Chuck, dan was not run off, he stopped posting of his own free will. Although I see he did post in the obama thread.
Personally I think it is past time for a few members of the OKHTF to move on and let things that are done and gone, stay that way. Of course you can allways go post on another forum that only has about 15 posts in it, and half of those bash this site or myself. Need to borrow a bar of soap? I have nothing against you chuck, or anyone else but personally I am getting tired of the insults aimed at me. |

| Listen fellas one thing I have learned lately is just keep my pie hole shut. I want the account over there so I can talk guns and ammo or ask questions for things gun-wise that I need help with. I will not get involved in anymore politics here or there. I like this site...but.....It has pretty darn dull here. Sometimes 2 or 3 posts a day. That is sad. Having said all of that...I bare no ill will to anyone here. I enjoy our discussions, and hope things pick up again. I will be the first to admit that I don't know it all when it comes to the black rifle or any other weapon, so I want to be able to ask and learn. If they answer, great...if they insult, I will go elsewhere. People are people and they are all a little biased one direction or another. That is how life is. Did not mean to start a blow-up. I was just asking a question. Sorry Chuck, sorry 1shott. |

Your paranoid and off base. Chuck meant no insult to you. And why do you keep track of what and where I post in this forum if it is not outside of the CoC?????? Yes Patrick, I an no longer the anus of the OK HTF. It seems that you have stepped in and filled tjat very large void for me.
OSA is about as exciting as this place is, maybe less so. Moderators do make a site what it is. |

I don't think it's you. I'm also having a little trouble. I created an account and received an activation email, but I noticed my account name was wrong so I did not activate my account. I've emailed the "help" account severals times about making the correction, but nothing. Maybe it's just us.

USSA-1 I was starting to feel unwanted......Glad I am not the only one!!!! Actually mack45 said the guy who does the activations has been out of pocket for awhile and mat get to it soon.

I have been around on this earth long enough to know when someone is trying to get a dig on me, it is easy to spot esp when it comes from just a few people and is about the same topic every time. Let me spell it out for you dan, as I have stated before, you were given a temp lock for violating the C.O.C., while I was NOT A MOD, I had nothing to do with that, yet you and several others on this board continue to point the finger of blame at me. Yet once again I had nothing to do with you getting a temp lock, that was all on you. I was asked to come back as MOD I agreed and asked for a co mod, when I came back you and several others started a hate mail campaign against me to staff that far exceds anything in politics. You also made the statement you would never again post in the OKHTF, yet here you are, and yes I noticed you posted in the Obama thread, why? It is part of my duties here to READ THE THREADS, yes I have to read the threads, so yes I noticed and made note that you had posted in a thread. I post here and elsewhere because I enjoy it, so you can deal with the fact I am here to stay until staff says it is time for me to move on. Well, it seems that all is not quiet on the Western Front in this forum. Just so we are all on the same page here. What I'm about to type is not directed at anyone in particular. This will all be general information for the members of this site, who use this forum.
What has happened in the past in this forum is... well the past. We are going to move forward from this point. From what I've seen this is a pretty active forum compared to a lot of the other HTFs here. We encourage all of you to use this forum to help promote discussions and activities amongst the our OK members. The simple rule for forums like this: You get out of it, what you put into it. If you bring a positive and friendly attitude to the forum, you will probably have that kind of forum. If you bring a piss poor attitude, then the forum will suffer. Here is something for you all to remember. Our Mods volunteer their time to help the site, and the forum they are responsible for. The Hometown Mods actually have one of the toughest jobs on the site IMO. We encourage our Mods to participate within the forums here. When this happens, they usually end up meeting a lot of people from the forum, or at least be come friendly with those that frequent it. The only trouble is that they are responsible for enforcing the rules for the site. Even though we do give the HTF Mods a bit more latitude in dealing with their forums, they don't make the rules. The hard set rules (CoC), they have to enforce. It's not up for discussion, they can't play favorites, and they are not to be blamed for doing it. If anyone has a problem with the Mod of a forum, they can try and deal with it via IM first. If the problem can't be resolved in this way, please contact myself or one of the other Staff Members on the site. Even if they don't handle the HTF issues, they will pass it along to the ones that do. Here is a hard set rule that is not in the CoC. Site Staff does not tolerate people bashing or causing trouble for the Mods, just for doing their job. Again in case you missed it. If you are having a problem with a Mod, please contact Staff about it. We will look into the problem, and take the necessary steps to address the problem. So, lets get back to what this site is supposed to be about. Exchanging information, having some fun, and a helpful way to escape/deal with the BS of the real world. |

Damn, you guys need to lighten up, drink a quart n take yer pannies off so they don't get in a wad or somethin.....One minute I read about inquiring about help on another forum.....then I read a fellow shooting enthusiast sharing info from another forum n the next thing I know there's mods talkin rules n tellin us to basically chill out.......good grief.....'sigh'....wheres all the fun gone? I mean heck Dan makes a rare post and says something about his void and I mention that his void can't be filled and nothing is said except behave n stuff......jeeez.  Anyways....I was just makin the suggestion to lighten up some is all, sorry if I stepped on anymod.....anyones toes.....

Haven't had a chance to meet Rat yet. When he mentioned quarts it made me think of beer. He is ahead of the game here , I never thought about quarts of margurittas. Was going to say that i would furnish the quarts if I could watch the ankle thing but after Pats last post I have to rethink that too!
