Guys anyone localy have a Ptr-91. I just bought mine a few weeks ago and was wondering if any of you guys shoot 308 out of it or just 7.62 nato. Thanks in advance |
| Several years ago I had a FN-FAL, and it would shoot full metal jacket .308 just fine. It would however beat the shit out of the brass. It would almost cave the front end of the cartridge completely in when discharging it from the weapon. No reloading thanks to that. I am not familiar with all the specs on 7.62 NATO v.s .308, but I am guessing it is about as close as 5.56 and .223. I'd try it to see what happens. I am thinking they are close enouph spec-wise to not make a lot of difference. Hunting rounds may make a slight difference with the soft tips but......I don't see how it could kill you or the rifle to try a few rounds. |

Yes I do. I had bought one of those Vector V-51 pistols ya know the .308 version of the MP-5. It had like a 7 inch barrel and would damned near set the pasture on fire every time you touched it off not to mention no amount of hearing pertection was enough. That damned thing would jar your bones when shooting it turned out to be not as much fun as I had hoped. I ended up selling it but I kept 25 of the mags for it with the plan of getting a PTR 91 in the future. The PTR is my next black rifle purchase I plan to make before the commies get in office........Now I just have to find away to fund it.... |
