Alright folks, the sda class at our Lexington shoot on the 17th did not pan out. Here is another possibility if you are interested. There is a gentlemen in Duncan Named Lentz that I contacted from a number off of the OSBI site. He told me that at the point that I could put 4 people together that he would be willing to teach a class. He said that he would work around our schedules and that he would only charge $50.00. He also informed me that he gives a spouse discount and highly recommends that they join the class. I think my wife would willing to attend so that only leaves me needing 2 maybe 3 more good people to sign up. I can get you a phone number for the guy if you will IM me, or I can act as the liason if you wish. You know.....You contact me, I will contact him....Blah Blah. He will be out of country for the next two weeks so there is no real rush. I would also like thank Chuck for his offer to teach a class. I wish it would have worked out that we could have had one. I will still buy you a beer brother Chuck. |

not to knock it, but duncan is a hell of a drive from the metro area just to save $10 on a class, only to spend $20 in gas for the roundtrip. last time I looked h&h was still doing classes for $60 every saturday, and when they got enough interest a two part class thats 4hours on monday and wednsday evenings. there's a dude out in mccloud that holds classes on saturdays pretty regularly for $40, but it's Goddamned hard to get ahold of him on the phone to get the schedule, and occasionaly they'll run classes in littleaxe area for $40, but you gotta watch the norman paper and/or the rural community paper for the ad. |
Higgi lives in Chickasha. So its not that far for him. Besides, we know how you big city boys are. Wont drive anywhere for anything.

I knew about the HandH classes but they have them when I am coaching and I can't get away. Saturdays I watch film and break down teams stats, and then the week day classes fall just as practice is ending around 5:30-6:00 pm. OKC is about an hour on a good day and that would put me way to late for the classes. Duncan is 35 miles and the guy said he understands my situation and will teach when I can make it. Very cool if you ask me. I just to offer it to everyone else as well. |
well that pretty much explains it then; as for me driving somewhere, if trips worth it, I'll drive anywhere but across deep water .

I don't do the SDA anymore. Women and older kids that want to learn how to shoot a handgun, rifle, or shotgun I will teach for free. I will do husbands and wives but separately if both are total newbies to firearms. |
Well....I won't argue with that. I would rather have an ARFCOM guy teach me as well, but it is what it is......They don't seem to offer many classes and when they do people don't sign up for them. I wish we could have it that way, but I need to get my concealed carry and I have to go where there is a class. |
