| Any Walmarts in the OKC Metro area still sell guns? Anyone? Anyone? |
|
I am surprised they don't sell Norinco stuff being everything else from there comes from China. Wal-Mart is bad for America, Anyone who says they "miss Bill" is a blithering idiot, and NAFTA = treason = end of America being a super power = start learning Chinese = …. Sorry, not a big Wal-Mart fan. Just my .02 |
yeah man, doesn't make sence sometimes, guess they thought the section 8 crowd wouldn't ride the red bus to the other side of norman, of course norman's got quite a bit of section 8 housing on the west side too nowdays, norman's not like it was when I was a kid, back then the city confined the section 8 crowd to the shilo area. |
so who you voting for this november? |

I guess some of you missed that Wal-Mart has turned to local markets for many of their goods to keep costs down for the consumers. Not to mention they are putting stress on big manufacturers to decrease their packaging size of items, not the quanity of their product, in order to help combat waste as well as wasted space on shelves and trucks also help keeping their prices low. Granted they do carry quite a bit of stuff from china but when big companies start outsourceing to China what do you expect. Still the same stuff we bought when we were younger. If you are going to be mad be mad at the companies that made the decisions. Right now Wal-Marts and big discounters are whats keeping America togather during this recession. American greed is what is doing us in. And they us the "It's the American Way" as their shield. Without them we would currently be worse off than we are. They are also fighting on the behalf of the consumer to keep prices down. Name another company that is doing this. Hell even John Deere is no longer american made. ![]() You guys are educated enough to read last I checked. Why dont you take a couple extra minutes and read the back of the package and see where the items came from before you lynch a company. No one is forceing you to buy stuff from China. |
I don't buy shit from China if I can help it. But even Walmart is importing food from China. We are shipping raw goods over there for processing, then shipping it back in cans. Fister, Walmart is one big reason all of our shit went to China. Their boy Clinton gave China Most Favored Nation trade status and Walmart immediately started shipping shit in from offshore. People have no idea of how bad we are screwed in this country with so much of our manufacturing shipped overseas. |
popcorn ready |
And a lot of your auto parts come from MEXICO and CANADA. But you can check and READ the labels that come with stuff. If it says made in the USA then you are still supporting our economy. Sure you may pay a buck or two more but you can not lynch any company for doing business that way unless they ONLY sell foreign and refuse to sell US manufactured goods. Its not up to them. Its up to you the consumer to pay attention. Until we start paying attention they will not change anything. And thats not all it will take. Some companies are changing their ways but slowly. Then we have big hitter companies like Clebrus who is all about the almighty dollar and would rather cut production here to import more goods from overseas. There are some things that are just better built because they come from overseas. Look at hondas for example. Compare that to the older made in the US fords. Catch my drift. But there is some down right crap that also comes in as there are damn fine goods also made here. The ultimate responsability is that of the consumers. Until the average consumer stops buying crap they dont need and starts paying attention to the global economy and our hardships as a country, nothing will change. It will take an economic crisis of sorts to get that through their heads. When they start losing their jobs and their ends no longer meet then hopefully they will help get things back on track. But it will take them suffering to get the point across to change their ways. You dont win a war in one single battle. It is takes a series of small victorys to win a war. |

hell I like walmart, I go shopping there about once a month, cheapest toliet paper, deoderant, shaving cream, razors, toothbrushes, soap, laundry soap, fruit of the looms, socks, jimmies, 22lr value packs and 12ga ammo in town, if walmart don't carry it, you don't need it besides, there isn't anybody making consumers buy foregin made products; if the consumer doesn't want foregin made products, then all they got to do is read the manufacturer's country of origin label and make their choice, but the consumer whom demands American made products must also be willing to pay a higher price for American made products. just for thought, my 1975 chevy C20 cheyenne with 8 track hi-fidelity am/fm radio, A/C, full carpet, cloth bench seat, full gauge pkg, 90amp alt, dual tanks, overload/HD spring pkg, 454 V8, 4bbl w/manual choke, 4spd trans and 4:56 rear gears options cost a whopping $2700 brand new, and mostly manufactured in America, by Americans; a comparibly equiped chevy HD C20 today cost over 30k and is mostly manufactured in canada/mexico and assembled in America by mostly Americans. so anyone that says they only buy American manufactured vehicles is probably driving a 30+yo vehicle. |

My shitty opinion of them comes from having worked for them and seen the bullshit way they treat their employees. I have several friends that work in their home office IT department still and hear from them all the time about the 'shady things' that business does. My apologies to anyone whom has ever worked in a DC or their IT areas, but you know what I'm talking about. |
You cut that shit out right now. You are killing a perfectly good rant with common sense. By the way, this bread sure is tasty and the circus is very interesting! ![]() And both wally worlds in Lawton sell guns. |
Fister, that Chicom ammo I bought came before Clinton.....![]() China has us us by George Washington's short hairs on the dollar bill. The Chinese gov't has patience that will last generations when they seek an objective. Our attention lasts from one pay check to another. Until we wake up, we're screwed. ![]() Think about how many sporting goods/gun shops Walmart put out of business and now most Walmarts don't sell guns. Ammo may be next. Now a lot is done by the interet. What will happen when you can't buy your guns and ammo over the internet? |

My thoughts on Fisters post above. You guys are educated enough to read last I checked. Why dont you take a couple extra minutes and read the back of the package and see where the items came from before you lynch a company. No one is forceing you to buy stuff from China. You’re right. I am half way done my masters in HR with an emphasis in business/management so I have to study the business models of organizations to get my grades. I guess some of you missed that Wal-Mart has turned to local markets for many of their goods to keep costs down for the consumers. There is no evidence of this on their product labels, as they all still say “Made In Chinna”. Not to mention they are putting stress on big manufacturers to decrease their packaging size of items, not the quanity of their product, in order to help combat waste as well as wasted space on shelves and trucks also help keeping their prices low. This is more to their benefit than ours. Not to mention China purposely undervalues its currency and we have about a 90% deficit ratio with them every year. Granted they do carry quite a bit of stuff from china but when big companies start outsourceing to China what do you expect. Wal-Mart is in the habit of telling its suppliers that they must move production overseas to give Wal-Mart the lowest bid on a product. Still the same stuff we bought when we were younger. If you are going to be mad be mad at the companies that made the decisions. Right now Wal-Marts and big discounters are whats keeping America togather during this recession. Some say so, but others say that we would not be in this recession if we were not competeing with countries like India and China who have reciently and dramatically benifitted from NAFTA for fuels, metals, labor, goods, etc. American greed is what is doing us in. Because our standard of life is changing in that organizations that produce are now allowed to leave the country. And they us the "It's the American Way" as their shield. Without them we would currently be worse off than we are. I do not agree. China is purposely giving production facilities in its county loans and backing when they already operate with no human rights laws. This is how Chinese producers can flood the American market with quality goods for the sole purpose of putting American competitors under. At this point it is no longer “free and equal trade” Wal-mart knows this takes place and has testified AGAINST American companies that have sought legal refuge in the face such practices. Ask Thompson TV and Rubbermaid. They are also fighting on the behalf of the consumer to keep prices down. Name another company that is doing this. Wal-Mart offers almost no benefits to employees that are not management or corporate and not even ALL of them get anything. Who do you think picks up the tab when these people need health care? Never mind the town built around a factory that has gone under because it cannot compete, Lets look at a regular town like my home town of Purcell OK. Wal-mart comes to town and the two grocery stores have trouble competing as does the Dollar General, the gas stations, the Subway (‘cus there is a new one in the Wal-Mart), the mom and pop tire change places, the gun shop in Lexington ‘cus ammo, etc. Yes you can now get stuff cheaper, but in the long run it is bad for the town as the standard of living-wages, benefits-in the altered job market has decreased. |
