Well....There is no way to make this story short so just sit back and read at your leisure. This weekend my wifes mom and dad came to town. My mom-in-law is battling cancer and has been doing so for about two years now. At one point her cancer count had gone down to around 20, but recently spiked back up to 130. That's not good BTW. Well she is flying out of OKC Tuesday to go Indianapolis to stay with her sister who lives there and she will be getting treatment at the Cancer Treatment Center while she is there. It's been hard on her these last couple of years, and even harder on my wife as she is very close to her mother. Saturday night to get out for a while we went to Guthrie to the Stables restaurant to eat and then on the way home we swung by the Riverwind Casino in Norman. No luck as usual for us, and of course no luck for my wifes mother. While we were there a lady sitting maybe 5 or 6 machines away hits a jackpot for over 22,000 dollars. You know I am not the type to begrudge anyone a little good fortune, but I just could'nt help but think that my mother-in-law sure could have used that jackpot herself. She is a good person with a great big heart and she has devout faith in God. I sure wish she woud have won something while she was out with us that night. To her credit and as a testament to her character she is in good spirits all the time and swears she had a great time just hanging out with us all. What a good person. Tonight as you hit a knee, would you please say a little something in her honor? Prayers have kept her going and she is ready to beat this thing finally. Maybe luck is something you make for yourself, and maybe we can all help her get through this. Thanks, Mike |

Thanks for all your prayers and good thoughts. My mom-in-law went to indy and had 3 quarts of fluid drained from her boby. She is starting a hard core form of Chemo-therapy and will returning to OKC this week sometime. My wife andI will be returning her home to Dighton Kansas and then it's back here. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. Mike |
