I hate OU why I am persistent on attending there I have no freakin' clue!! Any time you try to take care of something at that damn university each department tells you, well ms. habsfan I cannot authorize that for you let me transfer you to this department... so I get some other yahoo on the phone only to hear that their department does not handle that so they transfer me to yet another department and I hear okay yes ms. habsfan we can do that... oh wait no.. no I will have to transfer you here first to take care of an outstanding bill. Okay so I get to where I need to be only to be told that everyone that works in that office is out for the day, please try again tomorrow!!!!

and why in the hell is the college of law records separate from the main university!! why cant they just request the records.. no i have to take time off work and drive my happy ass down there to pick up records from the main campus and walk down to the law center. This week has been hell and it is only tuesday!!! Tuesday i tell ya! I don't even want to get started on what monday went like.

I am going home today and oh wait...... can't do that either because flyboy is out of town so looks like tonight ms. habsfan will just be enjoying a nice hot bubble bath and a bottle of wine.

lighten up habs, events of today will pass, just like event of tomorrow will come to pass.

I know what your typing about though, the tribal gvn't agencies are pretty much the same way, only with them you usually can't find anyone in any branch/dept that knows an answer to the question(s) your asking.

oh btw, this is my sunday, it's back to the salt mines for me tomorrow

habs, if people really knew what the OU administration DOESN'T do, they would come unglued. It is not an institution to be proud of. I saw that first hand working there.

Welcome to the territorial waters of higher ed. It's not just that way at OU even the regional uni's do it. The offices are so used to competing for their next years budget that they forget they are here to assist the students (a.k.a. my meal tickets). Trust me the B.S. is just as frustrating for most of us working in the cesspools facilities. Be glad you do not have to bear witness to the witless inner workings daily.

hahahahahah......well at least I'm a wizard and not a hobbit

maybe it's just because I'm old(er) now, but remembering back when, it seems to have taken me years to realize that what I don't accomplish today, will still be there tomorrow for me to work on.

in other words, sometimes, certain situations require that you just say "fuck it" for the moment, because all issues have a way of working out one way or the other.

besides, there's greater things in life to worry about, like booze, women, cigerettes and fun

You'd think that with the retarded crazy tuition(gotta pay for those sports teams) they'd have better customer service. Then again, you'd think with all the licensed shirts, bumper stickers, wallets, hats, shorts, underwear, credit cards, lingere, special edition pickup trucks, wallpaper prints, rugs, napkins, coasters, silverware sets, coffee mugs and sex toys with OU printed on them, OU could afford to charge you $0.00 tuition, and actually owe a refund at the end of the semester.

Oh yeah, I forgot the sunglasses, miniature football helmets, dashboard bobbleheads, tool sets, lawn chairs, bird feeders, and bath towels. How did I forget the bath towels?!

What morals I saw from the faculty and administration was lower than hookers working a $5 corner. I've said this before and I'll repeat it again.
There are a lot of ghost employees at OU that draw a paycheck and never show up.
What happened a couple of years ago with the football players and Big Reds was just a tip of the ice berg.
OU is an example of higher ed in this country and shows why we're in the shape we are.

I haven't really complained too much about tuition mainly because my first two years there were a free ride through scholarships sad part is I partied too much and lost that so now I am paying for it actually dad is I don't remember the first three years being this frustrating to do things. makes me angry and disappointed at myself when I look back on the last four to five years knowing that I really screwed shit up. Now that I am trying to repair the damage seems like I everything I go to do is a HUGE hassle. I learned a lot and experienced quite a bit during my first round of college, but honestly if I had it to do over again I would certainly change a few things.

I spent 8 years in the LSU system and it is no different there.  Same pile of administrative crap just a differnet shovel.  That was 24 years ago.  My youngest daughter graduated last year from OSU.  Same hassle there.  They all have us at a disadvantage and they know it.  If we take our money elswhere they are happy because they feel overworked now.  I overheard a secretary at LSU say " This would be a good place to work if it wasn't for the damn students."  WTF over?

Anyway,  20years down the trail it will only be a sleight memory.

Hang in there and do like Nden says.

Hah! My sister is going to LSU in the fall. Then again, I have an uncle that teaches there, he's a department head or something now.

finally got everything squared away! yay I am excited to get back and finish as long as I don't have to deal with the administrative crap. One more year, maybe two, and then graduation! which means having to deal with the administrative shit again. Its worth it in the end.

Here is my OU story.....  They had a "fast track" thing going on that met at Rose State a few years ago.  They insisted I pay my tuition before my scholarship money came in so I did.  Well 7 months later AFTER they had received my check and my scholarship money they still had not refunded my money and refused to give me any answer as to why.  It took a call from my attorney to get it.  I had it in my mailbox the next day.  Needless to say I got out of that program and just enrolled this week at OSU-OKC in one of their bachelor programs!  Hello 13 hour days!!!

Oh yeah and to add on about the tuition bull crap.... Anyone listen/watch Glenn Beck?  He has been harping on the college endowment funds for the last two weeks.  According to his calculations Harvard could afford to pay for like 150,000 students tuition every year just on the interest alone from their $20 + BILLION dollar endowment fund.  So yeah it pisses me off too that these schools act like they are broke and it's Republicans fault that we don't have free education to go along with free health care.  At least my city pays for 6 hours a semester.
