| Anyone care to comment on the Colt Commander in the 38 super? I usually shoot 9 mm because I dont like all the backlash of shooting a 45 on my forearms and wrists. But, I am feeling like I want to step outside ammo the box on my next pistol. I would really like to find a weapon with a left handed slide release. Does any of the custom gun smiths do this kind of request? |
| I had a Colt Commander in 38 Super a long time ago, if you're thinking about reducing recoil you're going the wrong direction, the Commander in 38 Super is downright snappy, that cal in a full size frame might be less, but that caliber recoils like a 357 magnum in the Commander. |
| Colt combat commander in 38 super was my first handgun and I love it ammo was always more expensive but it seems like the price on it did not increase when everything else did so now it is not really an issue, if you do buy one try aguila ammo it is very accurate in my gun and is only about 13 bucks a box locally |
Uhm,.......?. Same operating principle as any standard 1911 design. My Springfield has not malfunctioned with any ammo, with it's main diet of reloads. Great gun/caliber for IPSC/IDPA competitions. |
