Hey Guys, I'm a little under the weather with a cold or allergy. Anyways, the wife goes to the store to buy MORE Robitussin cough medicine. Man, let me tell you what, as much as I have been drinking this stuff, I think it has to be a mixture of cement glue, spoiled goats milk, with a dash of shark liver oil .Now to the point/story. I open the sack(which has the medicine in it) and to my sickly surprise is a pocket knife. The wife bought me a little surprise to lift the spirit. It's a Columbia River(CRKT) M-16-10KE. Nice little pocket knife, tanto blade with serration, and a cool little finger flick for quick opening. It has a double lock or as CRKT calls it an AutoLAWK. My question. I saw on the blade STAMPED......TaiwanAre all Columbia River knives made in Taiwan?? How did I get the idea they were an American made knife. I've never owned one until now. Taiwan........hhmmmm......CRKT. Any pros or cons on this brand? Thanks, Dave |

I really like it from what I've seen of it. I guess a Taiwan knife is okay?? I always carried a Gerber or Buck, until I moved from Oklahoma to Galveston. Some how, some way, while fishng, I slowly lost a few knives. Thanks, Bandit. Ndenway, I think when she is done with me she'll cut the brake lines, drop the radio in the tub, or the two of us go fishing and she comes back. She put a good investment on me with insurance Dave |
Dave, you done well marrying a woman that can think for herself and shows inititive to accomplish a task she's set her mind too, be carefull grandson and sleep with one eye open

The story I was told when CRKT came out was that they were started ny a couple guys that used to work for Benchmade. Supposedly, they were fed up with Benchmade and started the new company and decided to use Taiwan to be the place the knives are built (cheaper labor) with qood quality steel. I have a couple and they have been more than usable and I do not whench when I drop one of them or cut stuff like I do a Benchmade. You are a lucky man that has a wife that thinks that you are worthy of buying a blade and the medicine for you! Take care |

I always had a Gerber...serrated edge, drop point or a Buck...Prince model. These I bought at the Chandler Wal-Mart. When I moved to Galveston and started to surf-fish(wading out about 100 yards from the beach) I lost the Gerber. On time on the beach, I and a couple of guys had our poles stuck in the beach sand, sitting on the tailgates of our trucks. Along comes this seagull and flies into the fishing line and gets all tangled up. Being a nice Okie, I run over and cut it off. In the meantime, this bird not only tries to fly off all tangled up but wants to attack my hands. Yep, after cutting it off, some how I drop the knife and it gets lost in the surf and sand. I had a Benchmade auto, I think it was called the spike. I bought it a few years ago up on North May Ave. South of the Samurai Saki House. I think it is now a scuba store. Anyway, I sold it to a friend. Dave |

I've been carrying a gerber fastdraw w/pocketclip for the last year or so, it got a 2 1/4" brushed finished blade and is a semi-auto opener with locking blade, its got the steel liner with zytsel grips, damn good knife for $30, one handed open with a slight flip of the lever on the handles spine, and sharpens hair shaving sharp easily with a few strokes on a steel or ceramic sticks, its a little gritty when you first get it, but the burrs wear off and and it gets smooth. |
.
My question. I saw on the blade STAMPED......Taiwan
