damn man is that the 64k question or what?

there are no cheap machanics, if you find one, then they ain't worth a damn,

a good one is gonna cost you some bucks, but don't confuse high cost with a  machanic and assume they are good,

and honest.......well an honest machanic is like a good machanic, their gonna cost you some bucks,

I can recomend one shop in norman ran by two stand up individuals, but its 45 minute drive from yukon in light traffic.

That doesn't mean he has a hydraulic lift or crane to remove an engine or transmission from a car!
You are only limited by the tools you possess or have access too!

I've replaced and rebuilt engines with less,

and as an added bonus, they ran well afterward.

You might try Kwik Kar Lube & Tune on NW 120th & MacArthur.  Matt and John are the owners.  They are honest and no BS types.  I sold them the place in 2001, and they have done well since then on my vehicles.

No doubt! I've used a tree branch and a piece of plywood to overhaul an engine before too.
But the tree and branch might be scarce in an apartment complex parking lot as well as some scuzz bucket hauling ass with your parts and tools if you leave to take a leak!

Well what I need is a MIG welder.  I had the gear that drives the window assembly break clean off the arm, and now you can move my drivers side window up and down by hand.  I look at it this way when I do work on the side.  I'm not one out to rape the aircraft owner.  I'd usually undercut the local FBO's by 5-10% and still make some decent money on it.  If I can find someone to weld this gear back on it would be great.

The muffler shop at 23rd and McArthur does welding like that! They will probably fix you up!

oh BTW I have my engine hoist, and I can pull an engine and transmission as 1 unit in about 4 hrs.  That doesn't mean that my apartment manager won't come out and bitch me out for breaking the lease agreement as far as working on cars in the parking lot.

Four Ashes Garage down in Moore (SE of OKC) is trustworthy.  (405) 799-9611.  The guy who runs the place, Lynn,  is an interesting fellow.  East Indian (dot not feather) by way of England.  But he is just one of those natural mechanics who likes working on stuff.  A real down home, shadetree type place and they always have tons of business.  They've been around for years, and everyone I've recommended them to has been satisfied.  Do ask for Lynn by name.
