All the more reason to let me have it for awhile. That way you won't be disappointed if it doesn't shoot that well! Colt pistols are notorious for fragile lockworks but the Python, especially one of that vintage, is known for being remarkably accurate! I've got a Colt Trooper Mk III (circe 1975) that belonged to my dad and it shoots like a champ! I'd be proud to own that pistol - you sure have a good one! For a while in the late 70s, some custom pistol smiths were putting Colt Python barrels on S&W K- frame revolvers making a "SMYTHON'! No kidding. The one I shot was unbelievably smooth and accurate, felt great the way it balanced in the hand! |
| Back when I was a Deputy an old friend of mine passed away, he had a Colt 6" 357 revolver, it was perfect, no wear or scratches at all, his widow asked me if I could sell it for her, I talked to everybody I knew that might be interested in a nice pistol, spread the word around, nobody wanted a Colt revolver, NOBODY! I couldn't even get anyone to make an offer on it, there was action on S&W revolvers, but nobody wanted that Colt at any price, after about 3 or 4 months I gave it back to her and told her I couldn't sell it, I don't know what happened to it after that. |
That is messed up. The Colt Python is a work of Art, with the smoothest and lightest trigger. |
