| The quality of the Tulsa Gun Show seems to be falling a little bit. Lots of people will sell you used stuff 25% higher than it cost new. I did buy some mag pouches, gun case, and a new Choate Varmint Stock for $60 which was a hell of a buy to put on my Savage Tactical 308. |
|
I walked every aisle. There were a few good buys. There was one ammo exhibitor with South African .308 for $150 for 980 rds and also had NIW Okay Industries AR mags for $10. SOG had some nice stuff but nothing cheaper then buying stuff online. I bought a Tango Down Battle grip from them for $30. Then there was the table with Mosin Naigant 91/30's, m44's, and m38's for $250-$350 or the lady with $350 beat up Yugo SKS's |

Lots of the dealers are idiots. I heard more lies than I can recount. There are always some gullible person to swallow their BS and to give their money to the liars. SOG was asking almost 25% more than Brownells on some items for the AR. Like the Norgon ambi mag release was $89 - $71 at Brownells, $30 for an ambi safety, $21 at Brownells. The prices on old Colts were ridiculous. Eveybody tries to make a killing on one sale. F*ck em! Was it worth going? I came away with some stuff that I needed at a pretty good price. If it hadn't been for the big savings on the Choate 2nd - no noticeable defect - it wouldn't have been worth going. |
amen, lot's of overprised stuff, there were a few decent deals on glocks, OPS had FN highpowers for $400 which I seriously debated buying, SA 308 for $150 per 900 wasn't too bad, ADCOM 5.56 was rampant, but other than that, not much to be had. Sistemas were all $100 overprised and the cheapest one I saw was $450, lots of llama and AMT crap, why are Remmington Rand 1911 slides so easy to find? and I was a little irritated at OPS Remminting Rand 1911 for $450, sounds like a hell of a deal until you notice only the slide is remmington rand. and the only thing I bought was dippin dots and my fiancee bought jewelry cleaner

| It wasn't the best show but if you had something for sale it would be hard to make it out without tons of offers. I sold a SA Mil Spec for what I wanted and a friend sold 2 guns and a cobray grenade launcher without any difficulty. That's probably because of how high the exhibitors had stuff listed though. |

I had plenty of hits on a Colt 1911 I had. But the dealers wanted it cheap to sell high! One guy hit me up in the aisles twice, asked my price, then went on. I caught him at a table with a Colt that was nowhere near as nice as mine at $250 higher than what I asking!!!!!! Then one guy started peeling out the cash to buy it, froze, then backed out! Maybe he was just jerking me around, I don't know. A few years ago I took a NM M1 Garand to Tulsa, got hit every 5 feet - lots of lookers, but no buyers. I finally started saying - It's for sale, not for gawking at! Pissed a lot of people off, but I sold it at a good price for me and the buyer. Both of us were happy! 10 years or so ago a friend asked me to sell one of his rifles for him. I took it to the show, once asshole said he wanted it for his son for deer hunting. He got it at a good price! About 20 mintes later I see a guy carrying it down the aisle. I aksed him what he paid for it - $50 more than I sold it for. That was OK, but the asshole had lied to me. I went back and called him a LIAR. It got nasty between the two of us. He is the owner of C&J in Bethany. Business is that way but I have never liked doing business with cons, scammers, and liars. And Tulsa had more this time than I have ever seen! The only redeeming value of the Tulsa Show is the size. The quality of the show was definitely worse than it has ever been in the 25 years I have been going to it. |
| I don't even try to sell stuff to the dealers. I just took a blank piece of paper and wrote in big black letters with a magic marker what I was selling, what it came with, and how much it was. I taped my sign to my pistol case. I didn't have a single dealer ask about it but I had a few people look it over and then one buyer. It was nice and painless. |
| I was tryimg to sell an ACOG and really got tired of dealers asking what kind of pistol I was selling. When I would say it was an ACOG most guys would ask if it was 9mm. On dealer caught me in the aisles and asked about it 4 times throughout the day. Same damn guy. |
| I saw that guy trying to sell the coat, it made me laugh. I sold 2 milsurp rifles 10 minutes after I got there on sunday to a guy on the lower level, then ended up spending the money on parts and misc stuff. Northridge had alot of ak stuff but some of it was pretty pricy. the guy selling the Armory ak stuff wasnt too bad, I paid about what it would have cost to order from them including shipping. There were alot of empty tables, the spring show was packed to the gills compared to this one. |

Had a good show, went up with some mad money to pick up some parts and pieces and walked out w/: S&W 325 PD ($550, NIB) Shitload of Glock 21 mags Shitload of CMC 8 rd Power Mags Some other assorted odds and ends... I'm pretty pleased with it, did anyone else see the $7000 Springfield M1903? Asked the dealer if it was SGT Alvin York's rifle and got a funny look... |

I was shocked at the lack of ar 15 parts vendors. Sog was the only real parts vendor. Usually there are several. Also I was looking for some tactical buck/slugs and could not find any. I e done noticed ove the last couple of years that it is declining. Several vendors I have done busines with for years no longer come to the show. Rembr Doc's guns out of Tx?? There is more and more junk. I did pick up the new choate Ar 15 stock for a great price. other than that I really did not see any great deals. |
Small world I still own at least four pistols I purchased from him at texas gun shows when I lived their............... I'm not completely clear on this law but to the best fo my understanding........It's against the law for a FFL holder to travel across state lines and do buisness at a gun show ......... don't get me wrong I KNOW for a fact it's been done for years but just recently they busted one of the largest FFL holders in az(IIRC) for setting up at the big vegas show............. I'm not sure what the loopholes some FFL holders are useing or if their just falsifying paperword or what the deal is for sure........ I just know the ATF agent who did the interview for my wifes FFL plainly told me it was against the law(i know that don't necessarily make it so)....... The one thing I do know for certain is a FFL/anyone cant sell a pistol to someone out of state unless they are LEO.......and if were talking about the same DOC's thats mostly what he sold.......... |

The one thing I do know for certain is a FFL/anyone cant sell a pistol to someone out of state unless they are LEO....... Thought i better clarify before someone tells me how stupid I am....... I know you can have it transfered threw FFL........... I'm talking about selling directly....... |

You can buy firearms in any ADJOINING state to your home state. Meaning with an Oklahoma DL, I can buy in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, and Louisiana. I don't know when that changed, but that is now the policy according to employees at BassPro. Many of the FFLs at the gun shows just ignore the law in many ways. They'll sell a gun to someone without filling out the yellow sheet, then add that serial number to someone else's yellow sheet. I can see why a legitimate dealer would stay the hell away from gunshows! I know I am careful when I buy or sell one at a show. |
The dealer were talking about if were talking about the same guy and I bet we are because he always had the best prices on new stuff....... Is a Texas resident/ffl/dentist........ I'm not saying he did anything illegal since it's possible he transfered everything to another OK ffl holder and they were actually selling the guns I know their are loopholes to do anything ......... I did just get the new WHITE sheets no more yellow BTW talk about retarded FFL's their is a gun shop in plano tx that won't sell to you unless you live in their County
