Just thought I would start a topic about Guns.
And see where it went.

I have owned
Olympic pre ban sold it to a friend in new york that I was in the service with.
I hear people bash them all the time.  I shott the hell out of it cheapest ammo I could find.
Never a hiccup realisticly I'm not possitive but that rifle probably had somwhere between  12-20k rnds that I put threw it. I have know idea how many whent threw it before I bought it used for a whoping $400. The only problem my friend has had with it is he got a couple of mags that wouldn't function.

Colt pre pan but denuted it was the model without the bayo-lug.No drive by bayonettings with this one.
When i bought it it was like new but used. It has at least 5k rnds through it.
No problems but hey it's a colt their shouldn't be.
Same deal as above lots of cheap ammo. Had some i got at market hall gunshow that actually hit about 6 feet apart worst ammo ever. I had to get a friend to shoot it to make sure it was the ammo and not me.

Rock dpms.
rock river upper dpms lower. only got about 3k out of this one 0 malfunctions.
My only gripe is RRA finish seemed to wear real quickly to me but since I bought it to shoot not a big deal.

Dpms rock.
Dpms upper rra lower. Haven't really shot it that much been messing with other stuff.
But still 0 malfunctions.

Just thought I would try to get a gun discusion going see what problems you guys have had.
Note
Anyone who looks at my weapons will tell you I'm no clean freak either I spray some oil on them
wipe off whats dripping.
Rusty 69 will testify to what my Glock's looked like.
I should be ashamed I just like to know if my stuff will run in less than perfect conditions or maybee I'm just lazy.

I have owned 6 ARs, never had  probelm with anyof them, they have been 2 Colts, one of which was bought new in the early 80s.

The others have all been Bushmasters, never a problem out of any of them, other than normal break in stuff.

I have a had a HK 91m bought it in the mid 80s, wish I had never sold it.

ALOT of S&W products, all good.

Several Ruger revolvers and rifles, no problems.

T/C Encore, stuff is good, so is the NEF line of rifles....

and on and on and on and on and on.........

I'm only on my 1st AR. Model 1 sales upper with a dpms lower. 1300 rounds and not 1 problem. I did just order another bolt though just incase somethin happens to mine. Read a thread that talked about people havin a few problems around the 2K round mark the M1S bolts breakin. I bought a dpms for backup. My next build that I'm in the middle of is a cmmg lower with a $30 sportsmansguide car stock on it with a First Samco pistil grip on it and a RRA parts kit. Barrel n bolt n whatnot will be LMT with an ARMS SIR foregrip/ rail n flip up sights.

I have had a Colt LEO Carbine in .223 since right after 9/11/01. I had a Colt LEO 9mm carbiner before that. I loved the 9mm and I had 4 factory 32 round mags, and 3 factory 20 round mags with it so I was good on mags. I sold the mags for about $100 each 2 years ago and sold the rifle with one 32 round mag to someone in New Jersey for about $2800 shortly after 9/11/01.

I only like the Colts because I could get them cheaper at the time and they tend to hold thier resale value well.

I have 3 ars at this time. The only one I have ever had problems with is the one I carry on duty. It is a little paticular on ammo (match chamber) but never had a problem with good ammo.  On one of my
others I once had to replace an ejector spring, I had shot the hell out of that one. I am currentl thinking about building another one an ultralight.

we need details on that one.  how many rounds  were you running it on a full auto lower???

The reason I started this topic is because I have seen lots of people talk about how unreliable AR's are and I just haven't had that kind of experience with them.

The only problems I have ever had were magazine related and I have shot reloads that made "wolf"
look like match ammo.
Watch all mine break down at the shoot this weekend.

Only problems i have ever had were FTE with the old Wolf lacquer coated 5.56 stuff. Other than that no hickups except occassionally after 100's of rounds without cleaning. Usually after about 600-800 rounds straight during a class I have had that problem though.

thats what my 10 did at the 25th shoot, was bragging that I hadn't had a jam or fte in a k rnds. and sob jammed four times in a row, untill I hosed it down with tri-flow, then had my first jam with wolf in my 15, not bad figuring I fired around 15k+ of the stuff through several rifles, but still to have a rifle jam in front of others is down right embarassing, just about on par with finally hooking up with a chick you been after for along time and being too shit faced and pie eyed to get it up.

Ndenway

I was talking with another guy this week who has a 10.  He has the same problem you do super finicky about ammo.

Seems crazy to me that my Cetme runs better than a 10.  Especially when you consider the price diffrence and it was built by monkeys.
