Anybody going?

Not me.

The only way I would go if nothing was on TV, nothing to do at the house and just plain bored to death. I can't get over the prices on the guns out there at the shows lately. I'm saving up for a couple of months and hitting the Tulsa show.

Yall are such big sticks in the mud. You should go to this show just for the entertainment. Where else can you see so many ex-navy seals in one place??

Besides military and former military get in free with ID or dog tags. Who knows? You may find something you can't live without.

Dog tags?  I think I've still got mine in a drawer somewhere, I'll have to see if I can find them.

I think I may go Saturday morning, and see if I can find some 5.45x39 for my SAR-2.

I'm going.  Need a few misc AR parts.  Nobody around here seems to carry chamber brushes. (At least not that I can find)

I haven't been in a while.  $10 admission, good thing they let cops in free.  Gun shows aren't worth $10.
The C&R really spoils you.  Prices are ridiculous.
Even on bayonets and things like that Ebay is cheaper.

 All I got was 5 M1 carbine mags $6 per and 1 1911 mag.

I made these offers but they wouldn't take
Spanish 1893- $90  asking $120
Sako M39 -$90   asking $100
K31- $90 asking $125

I also saw a semi 1919 for $1200
I'm going to try and build my own.

No.
I wouldn't recognize him if I saw him.
I try to stay away from those guys.
I did see McCarvile talking about the 2nd Amend.
I like McCarvile, he is a good guy.

So I went to the gun show today.  All I got was a chamber brush and a hi-cap for my USP.
I wasnt impressed with the show...I think 3/4 of the people there were selling nothing firearms related.  Or at least thats how it seemed to me since I was actually looking for something instead of browsing.

Maybe we should do as 455SD suggested in another thread: get a table. He claims, and I'm sure he'll jump in at some point, that the deals were from guys coming in off of the street looking to sell things to the "dealers."

sherrick13.... let cops in free....
It didn't work for me at the one a couple weeks ago.  Maybe tomorrow it will.

I went. It was a decent show. Saw some people I haven't seen in a while. I don't care for Bo Gritz or Mike Gassaway preaching their anti-UN trash so I tune them out when they start speaking.

Yeah, but I think Gassaway is pretty entertaining on television.

He speaks the truth.  We ought to do that.
Maybe 3 or 4 of us here in the area can split
a table.  I have some stuff I can mark up 400% and put out.

Were the guys there that only sold hiking packs and duffle bags. Come to think of it I need a couple and a few shows back they were selling them for cheap.

Yes. It is amazing what that little badge on your shirt can do. All of a sudden you are let into the club and people talk to you like you aren't some dumbass off the street. You are one of the in crowd. Dealers go to shows to deal with each other and occasionally take advantage of some geek off the street buying or selling.

About ten years ago I went in with a guy on a table a few times.

Do you know how hard that is to do if you actually live near Tulsa?  I'm aware that y'all are talking about the Wannemacher show, but I try to hit them all, just because it gives me something to do.  We have at least one gun show every month.  It's ridiculous.  Check this out:

Date ----------- Promoter
1/17-18/2004 --- RK
2/07-08/2004 --- RK
2/28-29/2004 --- Sooner
3/20-21/2004 --- RK
4/03-04/2004 --- Wannemacher
6/19-20/2004 --- RK

Starting in about July, Metcalf takes the place of RK as the promoter and has one show per month except October, I think.  Sooner has a show in August and one in December, and Wannemacher has another in October.  I'm not sure how we wound up not having one in May, but that doesn't mean one won't be announced between now and then.

Wanenmacher only has two shows a year; one in April and one in October. Even those are beginning to grow stale.

Tables for the next OKC show are only $50 according to the website they have.

400 tables, only $50 each!  Noooow at Oklahoma Discount Furniture!

They were selling used mattresses. Brad Edwards showed up and straightened them out.

Unless they've dramatically improved since the one I went to early in '03, RK shows SUCK!

I'd have to be pretty damned hard up to go to one of those again...

Maybe we can get ar15.com to get a table at the Wanenmacher's show here in Tulsa for the April 3rd & 4th show this year...might be a good way to meet fellow board members & get the word out about the website.

The RK shows aren't huge (not even the size of the Sooner shows), but they are getting better.  I've found several deals at them that I'd have never found at a Wannemacher or even a Sooner show.

I'll be there in April.  I meet a few dealer buds from NE or the armalite buds get me in.

I half ass tried to set up some kind of meet with fellow ar15.comers at the last Oct. show and didnt have any takers.  I'm certainly up to trying again.  Generally I come up Friday, get a room and help my buds set up and try to get a few deals, walk the whole show Saturday and depending on how much I spend, go home or stay until Sunday.  Incidentally, I talked to the ammuntionstore.com folks and they'll be there -- good folks and a chance to stock up without tax and shipping (at least no tax at the Oct show).
