From what I heard from the truckers on the CB. A car was Southbound in the northbound lanes. It collided with a big rig. The trucker and his wife got out and away. 2 ppl in the car died. R.I.P
I wasn't the only one woke up by the explosions. 3 other neighbors were as well. Plus I woke up Hard Rock and warned them. I thought the wreck was closer to them than me. I was concerned about toxic material/fumes. Turns out I'm the closest Arfcommer. It is ~1/4 mile from me. North bound 81 is closed from exit 5 South. Probably will be for several more hours. That's why a 5 day BOB lives by the front door. |

It was at exit 5 on I81 north in WV. I saw the remains of a tractor and trailer at about 6:45am. It looked like it burned up pretty good. I could only make out what a apperid to be an engine and parts of the trailer. Traffic was backed up from exit 5 to the WV rest area. Then again at the VA/WV line. Looked like they had 81 north shut down and were derviting traffic to rt11.

I just read on the news that a driver entered I81 at exit 5 going the wrong way. The driver of the SUV was killed. 
I will search for a link. The grass was cooked a good bit. There may have been another burn spot about 100-150 yards south on the right of the POI. It may have been something else unrelated. I know it wasn't there yesterday. |

How does someone do this? From westbound 51 to 81 south is a left turn at a traffic light. Turning left at the light just before the exit means you'll be accelerating down the northbound offramp. My bet given the time is the driver was either drunk or tired. |

Stupidity should be painful... this time, it was lethal. I feel sorry for the driver and passenger of the SUV but people need to pay attention to what they are doing when driving. The north left shoulder, left lane, right lane, and right shoulder are closed.
