The old Gander Mountain building.  Just talk to my friend and they opened yesterday but wasn't advertised.  Good selection of dd. said ammo prices were high.

The store had its "soft opening" today.  The place was packed all day.  The "grand opening" sale is going on next week (18-22).  Each day of the sale they will be giving away a different firearm, fishing and hunting related items (guns/rods/etc).  They are also giving away an ATV of some sort.  I was in the new store today and it is very nice.  No more rubbing shoulders with everyone else trying to walk through the aisles.  They finally have enough space to put out all their used guns and have lots of new ones out also.  They have over 1200 guns on the floor right now.

Did they close their old location, and, how far away is the new store from the old one?

Yes, closed old store.  New store is about 1000 yards from the old one.  It is in the old Gander Mountain store which is at Kings Acres Rd and Lakeridge.

I went by there today around 11am and there was around 50-100 people in the store. It was very easy to find a parking place and the store did not seem crowded at all, even with that many people around. At the old store you would not be able to move around without bumping into someone, much less find a parking place. This will be a much better location for them, especially around holidays. I just hope that they can make a go of it there, the lease on that location has got to be tremendous compared to the old location. They can't afford to raise their prices since they are already higher than CSA on firearms and almost anything in the store can be purchased cheaper on-line.

When I first walked into the store I was surprised how much the inside reminded me of the old Gander Mt. store. It looks like that used all of the old display counters, clothing racks, etc. in setting up the store. It has a similar layout as well. At least you can see the used pistols now without having to ask. I wish them well.
